@Alex: I love getting Beta early in the game, its quite possibly one of the single most kick ass Enemy skills to have early on, although I tend to grind early in the forests outside Junon once I've got Yuffie for hours then go take MZ on and yeah I try my best to get Omnislash and Ultima Weapon before I enter Midgar on disc 2 also, bit of a bitch if its one of the places Ultimate Weapon decides to hover about at though.

I really wished this idea had come up 2 weeks ago, I'm just now coming to the conclusion of a pretty epic playthrough and don't really fancy doing the whole thing again straightaway. I'd e happy to chip in on the discussion though, it is still very fresh in my mind.

Yeah, that bit about Ultimate Weapon hovering over Midgar can be a bitch since there's no way around it. I guess I just got lucky this time.

The forests around Junon (and Rocket Town for that matter) are an excellent place to grind for Limit Breaks because the enemies there often appear in groups of 5/6; making them perfect for slaughtering in the name of gaining a third or fifth limit break.

This sounds like a great idea. I'm definitely in.

Early in the game, I always have someone learn Matra Magic (usually Aeris) and grind in the Mythril Mines.

Matra Magic is another good call for taking it out large groups of weak enemies, which makes it a great time saving tool when you're grinding for limit breaks early in the game.

Aww that sucks I take it you don't have a psp or ps3 then you could down load it form the PSN.

Wall Market sounds like a good idea to start up on or what about even just when you meet Aerith, new party member/new checkpoint idea although I suppose they are very close together.

I agree with Kimble, just play the first two disks with us! iirc isn't the third disk just mostly surrounding the last battle anyway?

I always use her. She's my best magic user. Then I spend most of Disc 2 trying to find an Aerith replacement, and then I just feel sad because it's not her. I did learn to like Yuffie though. Conformer is one of my favorite weapons.

Does anyone actually use Vincent? I've always found him to be kind of weak compared to everyone else (excluding Cait Sith). Maybe I've just been using him wrong.

Cait Sith is the next best magic user IIRC.

I always use Aeris, so I'm not going to this time. I'm using Barret and Tifa, since I've never really messed with them before. What can I say? They show up first, and I have a short attention span.

I tried using Barret once, but then I got bored and decided to use Cid instead.

My main party is usually Cloud, Aeris, Cid. After Disc 2, it's Cloud, Yuffie, Cid. (sob)
Maybe I'll switch it up this time around.

I don't use magic much, and even then, there's Magic Sources to max all of your character's magic stats.
