Looks like Death Stranding 2 is now under crunch time.

The most demanding period of game development—both physically and mentally—commonly known as “crunch time.” On top of mixing and Japanese voice recording, there’s an inevitable pile of other tasks: writing comments, explanations, essays, interviews, discussions, and non-game-related work. It’s incredibly tough.

The PHYSICAL collectors edition does NOT have a physical disc of the game?! This trend is so bullshit.

The reason that it annoys me the most is the same reason that I'm super annoyed that Asura's Wrath and Shadow of the Erdtree never got a GOTY physical edition that had all the complete story content. When it gets to the point that whichever game company doesn't have their servers up, there's just no way to ever get that content again when you want to play it in the future. Physical media is far from being permanent, but with all of the aggressively unhelpful issues of groups fighting against video game preservation, I hate that things that seem this cinematic are being basically relegated to something that's preemptively lost media.

That being said – holy gods does this look like an incredible time... and reminds me that I should really try and see if I can get the energy together to play the first game.
