Oh btw guys, this has now been released for PS3/Vita (i.e. the Vita plays the same function as the Wii U controller) and XBox 360 (where an iPad can apparently play the same role as the Wii U controller).

ALSO ALSO ALSO

The trophy/ achievement list is seperate for the director's cut version so I have an excuse to replay this game and I'll be getting a shiny new platinum into the bargain!!!

BEST TIMES EVER

Got the platinum for the director's cut a while ago btw. That's 2 platinums for the same game on the same system. That's how much I love it :D

Short Fan Film. Enjoy.

X :neo:

That is hands down the best fan film I have ever seen. Ever. It was so true to the game I could cry, fucking excellent.

@Omega, I haven't, have you? Is it "the fall"? It's supposed to be quite good from what I've read. I'd like to, but I'm not much of a tablet gaming person :/

The Fall, yes. It's actually out on Steam as well, now, though I haven't picked it up because I don't know whether it's any good or not.

Is it worth the 5$ to get the "Directors Cut" version?

It depends how much you like it. I paid full price even though I'd already got the platinum on the original.

One of my favourite things about it was the developers commentary, which you activate with a button whenever it pops up on the screen. It's pretty cool, they talk about designing the levels, dialogue, the names of things and such. I'd certainly pay an extra fiver for that anyway :monster:

So if you're going to do another playthrough, I'd say yes, definitely :)

Thank you for impute.

I am still a bit conflicted. On the one hand I am extremely interested in the commentary. On the other hand (as I have the Steam version), if I get the director's cut I loose the old per-order bonuses, and the ability to play Missing Link on its own. And once bought, there is no going back.

I'm interested in getting the DC simply because it seems to have a NG+ mode, and players who do a lot of hacking (like myself) have alternate methods for defeating bosses.

Alright, I started replaying this the other day and it lead to an interesting discussion with friend of mine that is a bit obsessive with the series.

The subject being, how much of Adam Jensen is left? Is he like the original Robocop and just a head and a bit of digestive tract? Or does he still have most of his major organs? Is there any source that gives up the details of this?

Very little of him is OG Jensen. From the cutscene alone, you know they replaced his arms and legs, as well as his heart, and the augments indicate that they also did his lungs, eyes, brain, and spine.

So digestive tract sounds about right. :P

I don't think they entirely replaced his brain, but they definitely did augment it, along with a lot of his sensory organs.

I know for sure his arms and legs are gone, and the rest is heavily augmented.

Yeah, I should have been more specific - they didn't give him a full-on cyberbrain a la Ghost in the Shell, but rather just implants, a la Mass Effect.

It's also implied that
they did a lot more work on him than they actually needed to - he was in a life-threatened state but instead of just fixing what was broke they made a conscious decision to augment basically everything about him to turn him into a swiss army robot, ie. lopping off arms and legs that were still perfectly functional
