Yeah with the exception of the last boss.
In that instance you just gotta shoot like hell and blow the twat up.

I never got Typhoon, don't see the point as it's rare you're ever surrounded by enemies.

I'm pretty far in the game, but it's kinda getting tl;dr for me. I'm also at a tricky bit in the game, guess that's kinda discouraging :monster:.

When I bought the Typhoon, I was under the assumption its scope was a lot larger than it actually is.
Still, I'm finding it pretty difficult working out what to spend Praxis on now. None of the other upgrades seem all that useful to me, so I'm literally holding onto like 5 praxis for the time being.

Yeah, it's always good to keep a supply of Praxis points up until the boss fights. Often when you encounter bosses it's nice to upgrade Jensen's augs accordingly to the situation (eg. dermal upgrade before Fedorova boss fight).

Also, my friend who was a Deus Ex nut kept telling me to get the Typhoon, but honestly I felt more rewarded when I wasn't going the easy way out. So I spent an unreasonably long amount of time on some of the boss fights, but hey! I got creative about it. (I brought a hacked turret into the Namir boss fight and it killed him without me firing a single shot. Shit was hilarious, :monster:)

I never got any of the Dermal Upgrades.

Finished the game yesterday too, liked it.

As a rule I don't look at a thread about a game I don't want spoilers on, until there isn't anything left to spoil.

Yeah, it's a really odd mechanic as to how the energy bars work. You can only regenerate energy up to the first bar if you're completely depleted, but you can also regenerate any other energy bar as long as you have the ones before it filled up. I don't know why they did that; I can see how they made only the first energy bar rechargable from a depleted status.

Balance issues aside, imo they simply could have recharging multiple bars an augment. :monster:

Less minor spoilers pls satsu thx /phone post

People who haven't gotten up to those points in the game yet won't even know who the fuq I'm talking about

so shrug.gif

In fact, that's the most weaksauce part of the game imo. The bosses you fight aren't really... fleshed out all too well? There's very little in the way of motivation or backstory to make them as engrossing as they could have been.

Also I think people who get pedantic about spoilers have videogame sticks up their butts but that's another issue for another thread

With take-downs that make you immune to damage and the augment to take down multiple opponents at once, coupled with cyberboost items, if you had rechargeable bars you could easily take down every human opponent (aside from bosses) in the game without spending a bullet and take rather little damage.
The take-downs are balanced due to the energy system and honestly, it works. There just needs to be a slightly increased percentage of cyberboost drops.

I don't mean to say, like, make all 5 bars rechargeable or anything. Even 2 would be enough for those pesky extra actions that require more than one bar, like using cloak to move between cover. Not necessarily a game breaker, but an added convenience.

The recharge rate for bars is pretty slow, anyway.

I do that already on top of never being seen.

Still not very far in the main story - been spending most of my time exploring and hacking and going places that I'm not allowed to be :oscar: - but I'm really loving this game a LOT. It's so complex and there's nearly infinite freedom of choice and just aaaaah.

I also really love how the Praxis leveling system forces me to make some really tough decisions as far as prioritizing upgrades. Right now I've found ~3 kits and have leveled a few times so I'm sitting on the following:

-Social Enhancer
-Hacking Level 4
-Hacking Stealth Level 1
-Carrying Capacity 1
-Cloaking Level 1
-Reflex Booster (double takedowns)

And I have another point to spend as of about a minute before I started typing this, a result of hacking the alarm panel in the police station morgue (for no raisin).

Think I'm gonna get another energy cell.

ed: went for Move/Throw Heavy Objects instead :x

Move/throw heavy objects is a very neat and useful one to have. Nothing is essential but I'd definitely prioritize that if I played again.

Every single upgrade is like...situational, but I love the Icarus landing system I really do. :monster:

ForceStealer

Double Growth
So...as I mentioned in the Currently Playing thread, this is on a pretty sweet discount on Steam this weekend. But I can't get it to work.

I downloaded it right before going to bed last night and have been trying to boot it up...it starts, goes to a black screen with my computer's loading mouse...and sits there until I force close it. It reads as Not Responding in the Task Manager.

Help?
If it's useful I have a an Athlon 64 X2 and an Nvidea 8800 GTX.

eh, it's just one of those moves purposely designed to hook in more Wii U users. I wouldn't read too much into it since a lot of the UI is actualyl designed around the silly new pad they have.

My problem with it is there's nothing stopping them releasing it for the Vita/PS3 since it has the same bloody functionality, but they won't. And also I love this game so anger ensues.

what the vita/PS3 has dual-screen functionality? :monster:
It'd be a great concept to do across-the-board, but I think we're missing out a bit on the way the game itself is programmed to handle such things.
