They are rather outdated but at the time they were brilliant and the plot was very well done if not a tad tedious depending on the factions you dealt with.

Yeah this is one of those cases where I literally don't give a shit about any whiners have to say about it (which is a rare case for me, because video game whining has a strange habit of actually being able to bring me down a bit) unless I personally hear something about it that I don't like.

Voicing an opinion is one thing, but video game fans are unequivocally the biggest fucking whiners in any medium, ever. They can't kill my hype for a video game I'm finally looking forward to. Not this time.

Also I know Square Enix is lending their technical skill behind the cutscenes for this game. If this game lives up to expectations and takes off, I really hope they sort of...watch what's going on and take notice. Like, I hope they learn something from the experience.

Also, have you watched the gameplay yet MOG? It looks to be shaping up quite nicely indeed. The transition from FP to TP is smooth and not as jarring as it in other games, and the dodge roll is pretty awesome.

I remember reading an interview where the creators were taking great pains to find out what the fans liked and didn't like from Deus Ex 1/2 and use that feedback as part of the development process for DX3. They were even scouring forum posts and the like to collect their information. I really hope they're intelligent about it, and keep the spirit of the first Deus Ex on their own terms while being able to balance it with intelligent fan input.

While Deus Ex fans tend to be on average the more intelligent dudes in the gaming demographic, they have to be careful of the ones that insist on what Deus Ex was when it first came out and they pretty much have this old fogey mentality. Progress and keeping the spirit of your license don't have to be mutually exclusive. I understand everyone is scared after DX2, but still.

One thing I liked is how when it first showed the stealth kill on the guy on the chair, I was thinking "Because of the spontaneous nature of enemy movement/placement in Deus Ex, I hope everything isn't scripted. That would be mad gay"
