Going to give the beta a try; friend of mine played the shit out of D2, but at the time it was too hardcore for my tastes (or something). If I like it, I'll definitely buy it, :monster:.

I played D2 for a bit, but it just wasnt for me. Been playing the beta tho, and it seems more noob friendly. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Yeah, the abilities and such are easy to pick and use, and the gameplay is just smooth and responsive and things. Currently fucking around with one of them vodoo fellows because I haven't seen any of those in a public game yet. Tossing pots of spiders at enemies? Really? :awesome:.

Didn't know us Annual Pass holders already had access to this. Dayum. Will definitely be opening this up when I'm home.

This is Joe by the way. >.>

I didn't realize we got early access, either. I knew we got something Diablor III related. I'm still not sure if I'm interested in playing this or not, though.

May 15th, yeah. Last weekend's public beta was the final beta test to give the servers a good load testing. As it stands, it seems D3 is a fully online game, except... well, you can play in your own instance of the game :monster:. I played a few public games, which went well enough, just don't expect to catch much of the story as most players will just rush through it (as they already know it and, truth be told, outside of the CGI movies, the story's kinda tl;dr and told in an uninspiring / not very immersive fashion).

Am I the only one that, at least based on the beta, doesn't see where they put the 5 (or whatever it's been) years of development into? I mean sure, the animations and little details in the environments (like monsters crawling over walls and shit) are nice, but... yeah.

I guess we'll have to see, :monster:.

It's a shame, because the lore behind the events of Sanctuary are freakin' sweet as fuck

I'm sure once they take off that cap for the actual release someone is going to come around and completely break the game mechanics :monster:

Apparently, massive release fail, overstressed servers, etc :monster:.

That's what you get for making a single-player MMO, overly restrictive DRM or security measures (whichever it is), and not offering a single player game - optionally physically separated from the online characters. Blizzard is probably the PC game company with the least problems when it comes to piracy anyway.

I ordered it yesterday though, :monster:.

Been playing and really liking it. So much nostalgia from pulling all-nighters and finishing Baldurs Gate back in the day.

Playing the Sorcerer class.

I'd probably have just pinned it down to the shitty servers and the stress of persistent connection :monster:
