Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy

I wonder if they're going to fix the opening lines from the first game, namely Cloud to Firion. He doesn't look like anyone Cloud knows for fuck's sake! :rage:

I thought he said that he "reminded" him of someone he knew, but I don't really remember.
Regardless, that's not nearly as big a deal to me as them completely and utterly missing the "There's no getting off this train," line. Infuriating.

That's what he's says in the Japanese version. In the NA one he says "You look like... a friend of mine."I totally forgot about the train line, though, that's a good point.

Are they going to keep all the same intro and outro quotes this time around? Or do you think they'll try and get whole new ones for everybody?

I doubt they'd write all new ones. I doubt they'll even fix the train one, even though "This isn't the place to stop" is meaningless.

"Let's mosey" would be nice instead of "Let's go." Which isn't a mistranslation, he does just say let's go in Japanese, but that's clearly the part that is being referenced.

For those that don't know, this person also listed Cid H, Quina, & Edward. That's a lot of FFVII characters and I'd really need to see Quina & Edward to believe it. Even then...

They said it was in Jump magazine, so maybe someone with it can confirm or deny it. Dunno why they'd outright lie.

EDIT:
also so... some characters will get sent back to their homeworld but not the ones in the first game? Or are they all going back and just some are getting pulled back in or we don't know? Im just wondering if they'll do crystals in this game or ... yeah I guess we don't know do we?

I'm not saying they're lying, I'm just saying I'll believe it when I see it.

Hm, oh well. It's not like intro quotes are the most important part of the game, haha.

I'm not quite sure if they'll be using crystals as heavily this time around. There's a villan story right? Are they going to be looking for crystals that they only get from defeating their respective hero? :wacky:
I've always gotten the impression that Duodecim's entire story mode will be like Shade Impulse from the first, dealing with the conflict itself rather than each individual character's arc. I have absolutely no evidence to support this, but it makes the most sense to me.

The worlds will remain fused until the final cycle of the war (the first Dissidia game), so characters like Tifa, Kain, Lightning, Gabranth, Shantotto, etc. will die and not come back for some reason.

Basically, if you weren't in the first game, you're screwed. :monster:

As it does to me, and I really hope they go this route.

iirc, at the end of Dissidia, all worlds return to "normal". So I guess those that "died" will be back in their respective worlds when they are restored?

I think so, or we would have a real problem with some of the stories, like, who would rescue Cloud from his coma? Or, who would punch Snow? :monster:

They should make punching Snow could be a recreational sport. Or some kind of therapeutic mini game.

EDIT: Although, Lightning would feel amiss without smacking Sazh off her, slapping Fang, or punching Snow. Maybe she'll get around to kicking some of her fellow warriors of cosmos. I wouldn't mind her smacking around Tidus. Or Vaan.

That's.... morbid.

Is it? Gabranth's Distant Glory tells us when warriors are discarded they have to fight each other for the right to return to the cycle. So if Dissidia gets an actual sequel sometime, there's the chance the "discarded" characters lost in 012 can come back.

I think all the characters were plucked from points in time after they'd finished their games' stories, to be honest. Firion, Cecil and Tidus definitely had.

Considering how many times she hits her comrades in FFXIII, if there isn't some kind of reference to it in Dissidia 012 I'm going to be sorely disappointed in their use of Lightning.

They should have all been restored when their worlds were. Besides, a sequel to Dissidia is pretty much impossible given how the story ended.

I think SE has proven they have no qualms raping and retconning the shit out of their games if they can expand on them.

Also, apparently a message update on the main site confirms from Nomura himself we can expect a new character to be revealed sometime this week.

lol, Lightning is totally the leader FF needed. She doesn't take any shit. "I'm the leader, so buck up and do what I say." She's really underappreciated. Just look at her compared to Cloud and Squall and Terra. So I agree, I certainly hope she smacks around some of the more complacent heroes in Dissidia.

And that's cool Drake! I wonder who it will be...It's gotta be a villain, right? I know he said we're not sticking to the even numbers any more, but still, we've had two heroes I would assume a villain would be next.

"I'm the leader, so buck up and do what I say."

"Buck up". That totally sounds like something lame!Cloud would say. It's along the lines of "Let's mosey."

I'm so excited to see who's next. I've was worried we wouldn't get any more until Jan 11th.
