To be honest, the fact that something like three quarters of the claimed play time for the story mode comes from basically replaying the first game except you had to buy it again (what was it they said, 45 hours?) rather than Duodecim's original story (at 15 hours) is really, really disappointing.

Even for a game that is already reusing so much from the original game, reusing the. whole. entire. previous game is pushing it too far.

Speculations and judgments from the cover: Yuna is weird, Vaan is just scratching his nose, Jeht is with Cosmos. I bet Cloud, Terra and Tidus are with Chaos. It'll be interesting how they return to Cosmos, especially since we saw them fighting in the videos.

Terra being with Chaos makes sense. Cloud with Chaos is... possible, somehow, if a bit more strange. Tidus with Chaos? We know he's a bit of an airhead, sometimes, but seriously, that doesn't make any sense to me.

However, this picture could mean there will be no more new Cosmos characters?

It would make more sense for Tidus not to be in it at all, plotwise. Given that he wasn't around when Jecht was on the good side of FFX. But they already showed him in the opening CG, so who knows.

Yuna's also depicted in gunner form. But man would some of those be great to have. Celes, Auron, Vivi :monster:

I didn't answer this cause I wasn't sure and I was hoping someone else would :sadpanda:

But I forgot that Tidus & Jecht wouldn't both be on Cosmos team at the same time. I just didn't think about that. So I guess Tidus comes in later on (maybe halfway through)? Or maybe he's not a playable character, but only in the ending of the game.

Cloud being with Chaos could be done. If he were being controlled by Sephiroth or something. But do not want.


@Force - I think the one next to Auron is supposed to be a generic FFXI elf character. And the one in the third picture is OK and that princess...I forget her name (Aria?). LOCKE I WANT. Definitely Galuf, yes. And the one to the right of Yuna looks like a generic Yuke representative of the FFCC series.

Now how about some villians please.

Yeah, one of the screenshots we've gotten is Cloud coming to help Tifa against Sephiroth.

@Tifabelle Well again, I don't think any of that is real.

But everyone who keeps clamoring for more villains...how many more villains are there even? Gilgamesh, Beatrix (sort of), Seymour, Vayne, Cid Raines? And of them, probably 2 are even worth having (Beatrix and Gilgamesh). Add them, by all means, but if we really want as many characters as possible, there are going to be more heroes as there are more heroes in the series than there are villains. The games tend to have just one villain after all. There's Rufus and friends I guess but the mere suggestion of FF7 characters puts Tres into fits of rage, so they're no good.

Oh I know it's fake, I was just helping fill in your ???, lol

We need at least a villian for FFXIII. I thought perhaps Seymour, Vayne, Xande, and Gilgamesh. Though things don't look good there. I thought Seifer would make a decent FFVIII villian, but at this point it ain't happening. No more FFVII characters please. Other games to be had.

I admit I knew nothing of Xande, III being the one I haven't played. As for Seymour, eh, another wizard villain. And if we do think they'll stick to three characters per game, X and XII are both full :monster:

Nah. Seymour didn't interest me. But he seemed a logical choice for a villian. I agree that three characters per game is fine. Don't want to be showing favoritism :monster:

I still think Gilgamesh would be at risk for feeling identical to either Firion or Bartz, but they could make him different if they tried and Gilgamesh is awesome so I might not care anyway. Along with Beatrix they would give the villains some much needed physical fighters, whose ranks consisted of only Sephiroth, Garland and Jecht in the first one.

We dunno when Cloud saves Tifa, obviously he'll switch sides but we get 6 new heros and no new villians then I see why some guys need to take one for the team

Top FF1 is Monk or Black belt, yes.
3 top are Sara and Ingus. 3 Bottom are Doga and Unei.
5 top is Faris, 5 Bottom is Galuf.
The space after 10 is 11 on the top, but Crystal Chronicles on the bottom. Not sure exactly why. But that's a Clavat and a Yuke.
Those are Ramza and Agrias, yes.
The second to right on the top is Nono. Far Right is probably the White Wizard.
Bottom Right is probably Edgar, yes.

As for extra villians, the real problem is so many of them are summons already, and the extra ones lack the right panache.

So you have to pay for Aerith?... that's... kinda weird but w/e.

I'm curious to see her assist move. What if it was Great Gospel and she made your character invincible? :awesome:
