I think we got some wires crossed here. I DO think the general course of events, as far as locations they go to and the order in which they reach them will go unchanged until probably what would be Disc 2 material, and the key moments that happen there will still happen. Like, Barret will confront Dyne, Nanaki will go see his dad, Dolphins will hopefully be ridden and Rufus' parade will happen in silly fashion. A meteor will probably be summoned and giant kaiju will be unleashed. I just think the bottom level core events and driving forces will change dramatically, especially in regards to Cloud, Sephiroth, and Aerith. Zack being in the main group makes this inevitable lol, and I'm very sure he will be. I think things will get more and more different as the Remake goes, but it's not like they won't go to the Gold Saucer or North Crater. Also genesis will definitely appear, get hype @Roundhouse.

I'll say, another big reason I don't think it'll be a proper retelling of the OG is because of Ever Crisis. It was literally called "Another possibility of a Remake" and seems very 1 to 1. I feel like it exists so new players will be able to appreciate the difference in Remake's story.

I have been aware of those data-mines/information (or stuff similar to it) for more than a year now, and they still haven't really changed my opinion/expectations.

Like first off, data-mined stuff isn't guaranteed to be in the final product (the OG and its unused content and text is an example of that).

But even we disregard that factor, none of that is incompatible with what I am (and others) are expecting/arguing. I definitely expect the alive!Zack stuff to play some role in the Remake and have in-game shenanigans going on with him in some plot, and maybe even him interacting with some version of Cloud and the party at some point. But I also expect by the end of the alive!Zack stuff that it will be resolved in a way that is compatible and/or reverts the main narrative back to the essential aspects of the OG story (i.e. stuff like Cloud not being "spoiled" about his identity/past).


Similar to how the games FF Tactics and Dissidia are technically canon to FFVII (and the latter to other FFs) I expect there will be some silly explanation justifying alive!Zack existence and utilization in the Remake (though more directly integrated since it's not a crossover like the aforementioned examples) but keeps the main Remake narrative stuff following the core concepts and plots of the OG.

I'm pretty certain that was proven as faked-as-fuck fiction before, unless somehow someone else came up with some more supposed "leaks" or something. I literally remember being there on the TLS discord for this two years ago when that first happened before, and it was BS then.

It's not new. I literally even talked about it here two years ago. And Revolver Ocelot was the discord user who faked that shit, and even tried to rope Sreliata as a "source" for his leak claims when that was a lie. She even joined the TLS discord to repudiate him and call him out. I thought he was even banned for that shit.

It wasn't real then. And I don't know what would change from then to now to suddenly make it credible/real.

Well I'll just repost my reply from the DM here then:

Our opinions aren't really so different then up to a point. I don't really know how this all ends. I think Cloud's identity crisis will still happen, but probably not in the same way it did originally. I have to assume this Zack will interact with our version of Cloud (meaning, only one timeline) but his Jenova cells will be able to accommodate for Zack's existence better than we think. His story will adjust to fit Zack in without the whole truth coming out. Jenova's "mimic" ability is very powerful. Zack has seen what happens if you prod with Jenova addled people twice already in Sephiroth and Genesis, so he will know to be careful around Cloud and not explain everything to him (thus not "spoiling it"). It'll keep old players on edge and unsure while new players will be as confused as we were originally.

I have no idea how the remake story will go, but I don't think it will be interchangeable with the OG like people want. I no longer believe it will be able to lead into Advent Children, for instance, because that's the timeline we broke from (the three whispers at the end are confirmed to be Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo, trying to protect the timeline that made them). I think whatever happens will resolve the Sephiroth issue once and for all so he can't come back again.

As for the aforementioned datamined stuff. I can't say if it's real or not but I'm fairly sure it is. It'd take a monstrous effort to make all of it up, and the file structure looks real and matches the existing way the remake handles dialogue. As you say, plans can change, but I doubt something as big as Zack joining in Kalm would be changed that much.

The reason I don't think this will happen is because from the Remake's perspective, Advent Children already happened (in a wibbly wobbly timey-wimey sense). Weiss may end up playing a bigger role in the future as well. That's the feeling I get, anyway.

Revolver Ocelot has made claims that the Twitter user Sreliata was a member of their hacker group Dark Software and was helping datamine the retail release of FFVII-R. Below are screenshot examples.

My partner follows this user and I also know of them, so I found this claim highly suspicious along with the fact that if they were in the same group, why would they not have their Twitter followed/bookmarked already?

Also, when they first saw that picture of Zack, they acted like they had never seen this person before.

So yeah. They're lying out their teeth. This is especially messed up because they're indirectly getting someone involved in matters that have nothing to do with them, so they could end up getting this artist in trouble over claims of being part of some fake unknown hacker group.

So, I just wanted to let you know because this person is clout chasing in discord and now has people on the forum believing pure fiction.

And then TLS ended their leaks channel on their discord to stop people from spreading bullshit misinformation on the server.

There are no leaks for FFVII-R part 2. There is no Zack in Kalm or any other bullshit this dude made up. It's fake as hell.

There. Are. No. Leaks. There is no Dark Software. There are no hidden PKG files or whatever the hell they call it. It's faked. Someone who has looked at the assets, Sreliata, with actual history in game development and digging deep into game software, confirmed already there's nothing regarding Part 2 in Part 1.

This is not ambiguous, mysterious, or controversial. That shit is fucking fake.
