The reason I don't think this will happen is because from the Remake's perspective, Advent Children already happened (in a wibbly wobbly timey-wimey sense). So it wouldn't be disregarded so much as it will be part of "how we got here". The reason I'm sure Genesis will appear is because it's supposed to follow up Dirge. Weiss may end up playing a bigger role in the future as well. That's the feeling I get, anyway.

Well regardless of whether Advent Children really "already happened" from the respect of the Remake (which I don't really agree with, at least not in the sense that it makes the Remake a "sequel"), one of the main reason I think the Remake will end and still align with AC (and DC) by its end, is that all the references to AC, especially in chapter 18, just scream to me as the devs going "Hey you guys, remember AC and the Compilation? We remember them! This is us showing that that stuff is still important and the Remake will still connect/comply with them!" to the players.

I mean that's a real possibility. I predict that there will be a final battle to wrap up the overall threat the other Sephiroth poses to the party, but it'll come at the cost of erasing the other timeline because he would have absorbed that Planet's lifestream and tied it to his own existence. It'll basically be the "Promised Land" where everyone could find their hope and future where everyone's losses no longer happened. But at the cost of the Planet existing in accordance to it's proper cycle of life. A dead planet that Sephiroth keeps frozen in perfection. A false promised land, and Zack will naturally fight to stop it too. Because Cloud and the others will be tempted to accept it.

I mean I don't doubt Sephiroth (the chapter 17/18 ??? one especially) and Aerith have some form of the knowledge of the future (how much is consciously known for each of them may vary too), but I don't think how it is happening will make the events happening in the Remake a "sequel".

And I think the Remake setting up something like or similar to a closed-time loop (where something like Sepiroth's own attempts and shenanigans to mess with the Remake's events are what ultimately guarantees the events of AC and DC going on to happen in the future) is a completely viable outcome. And casual loops are some of the Final Fantasy franchise's go-to tropes, like FFXIV Endwalker just featured one of them in its main narrative.

I mean, FFVII-R is a "sequel" for the other Sephiroth, perhaps. But that's from the perspective of the antagonist. For him, he has experienced FFVII before, but that doesn't mean it's a sequel from the stance of the main characters of the story. It's still FFVII's story. Cloud is still Cloud from FFVII. Aerith has some knowledge from the future, but she even says in ToTPs that the knowledge has now disappeared thanks to the Whispers no longer being around her. In the end, we're still in FFVII but with an added storyline of Sephiroth from the distant future, where the planet met it's ultimate demise. And him trying to prevent it.

I mean, FFVII-R is a "sequel" for the other Sephiroth, perhaps. But that's from the perspective of the antagonist. For him, he has experienced FFVII before, but that doesn't mean it's a sequel from the stance of the main characters of the story. It's still FFVII's story. Cloud is still Cloud from FFVII. Aerith has some knowledge from the future, but she even says in ToTPs that the knowledge has now disappeared thanks to the Whispers no longer being around her. In the end, we're still in FFVII but with an added storyline of Sephiroth from the distant future, where the planet met it's ultimate demise. And him trying to prevent it.

I mean think this is where how people understand closed-time loop stories may just be a matter of schematics (especially ones that are initially set-up to seem like they are telling a dynamic timeline story like Back to the Future). Like in Harry Potter 3, where Harry saves himself from the dementors in his past, that doesn't make his character a "sequel" in the earlier chapters before the reader knows the mysterious figure who saved Harry was himself, at least IMO. It's more a case of Harry having always saved himself because he had to have been saved by himself in order to save himself.

Now in the case of the Remake, meta-textually/Doylistically the player/audience understands there's the OG that the Remake is adapting its story from, but on the Wastsonian level of the Remake's story, I fully expect whatever the ??? Sepiroth is doing (who probably thinks he is in a dynamic timeline story, and maybe even is, temporarily, what with the alive!Zack stuff) will ultimately inadvertently lead to him guaranteeing his own defeat in the main OG outline story of the Remake and ensure the future AC/Compilation stuff occurs without him (or at least his "past" self) realizing it. Basically meaning that all that stuff has always happened from the respect of the Remake, but we just won't realize it until the end.

You really don't need to throw some random unconnected shit in my face to try to prove me wrong about the past when you can just read and see it for yourself. Don't believe me? Read the actual contemporary text of the actual person who was lied on and cited.

My take away is that he randomly claimed some model ripper artist was on his "team" for some reason even though she seems to believe otherwise (notably, the conversation ends with her wanting to make sure he's not in her server under another name) and you're using that as a basis for claiming the whole thing is fake despite this same guy doing a very real and publicized leak you also claimed was fake until proven wrong.

I've seen a pic of the hex code that was leaked, which contained some dialogue between Cloud and Zack. It was very convincing lol. The way it was formatted perfectly matches how the text in Remake 1 is formatted. That'd be hard to come up with out of nowhere so shortly after the game released.
