Dragon Age: Inquisition

I'm having bug issues right now. I just defeated the boss in In Hushed Whispers and the game seems to think I'm still in battle mode when the dialogue starts. Picture

I'm running out of options now. I really don't want to do the dungeon all over again, but - AARGGH this is the third time I've tried reloading and defeating the boss but the bug is still there. I've tried varying the dialogue that happens right before the bug but nothing helps -_-

Edit: Apparently there's a thread. Will look into.

For those of you playing on consoles, you'll never know the terror of this sound. Thanks Origins.

^I only got to that part yesterday and my save file was on like 30 hours at that point XD. I keep getting stuck doing a shitload of extra stuff in places. And enjoying it :D

Yeah you really could roam for days in this game. I'm getting a bit fed up with the roaming though, mostly due to the fact that this game is not good to play with a mouse and keyboard. Pretty sure running around picking flowers is a lot more enjoyable when you can just run up to the thing and press X (or whatever; I'm assuming it's X) while in the game, you have to make sure you're close enough to the flower/loot before you can press F or right click. Your character doesn't run up to the thing by default as in DA: O and DA2 - really, it's a goddamn nightmare. The PC version is just not good X( I'm considering hooking up my controller, but then I'd still have to battle all the bugs. In addition to the plot stopping bug, yesterday the game crashed on some graphics exception.

^I do like the controller for this, which is a stark difference from Origins and an improvement on DA2.

I've encountered a few bugs. One is that after playing for a bit the audio becomes distorted and then cuts out altogether, only way to fix it is to restart the game. Another is that dialogue freezes very rarely in conversations requiring me to whack square to skip it. I think I may currently be experiencing a bug with the Iron Bull, because he's had no new dialogue since just after I first recruited him and he should have had some scenes by now as far as I can tell. I've looked all of these things up and they're well documented ("a patch is coming soon" etc.) but I think the Iron Bull thing might just be my approval idk.

Also bear in mind this is after about 5 or 6 hours of solid playing and it's a Bioware game, so none of it is surprising.

I am going to sleep now. Not because I am tired or because I want to (I am not and I don't) but because my PS4 probably needs to rest for a bit. I am proper addicted. Thank fuck I'm unemployed right now or my work would be suffering heavily.

Regarding the PC version I haven't found any difficulty or annoyances with the controls. I much prefer the controls and orientation of this scheme compared to the likes of DA:O and DA2. Most likely this is because DA:I is more typical of a PC game or MMO in its controls, I find it so much more intuitive.

It could be just preference though.

I think the fact that tactical camera is often zoomed in more than regular over-the-shoulder mode is fucking nonsense

I have a gazillion (probably not that many but) little problems I have with the game but overall there's so much to like it largely overshadows my problems. Might wordsplurge later.

Well guys, I'm afraid I won't be riding the bull on this particular playthrough :monster:

This is due in large part to the fact that while you can't "lock it in" until later, when you start a romance with a character of any kind it locks it out for some others (the Iron Bull is one of these others).

I had always planned to romance Dorian and I'm glad I have, it's honestly pretty amazingly well done. I really wanted to romance Cassandra too because I just love her so much. Multiple playthroughs definitely ahead on this one (so far anyway). I might save and break it off with Dorian to see what I can do there. I was hoping for a jealousy type situation or one of them to walk away but that doesn't seem to be happening in this game :D).

I was having trouble triggering iron bull's dialogue/ personal quest and eventually worked out that it's because my approval wasn't high enough. Sorted it now though.

Will poast moar when I know moar.

Crisis averted. I had to break up with Dorian and then... I RODE THE BULL. TOTALLY WORTH IT FUCKING HILARIOUS.

Now I really really don't know what to do. I like both of the relationships. I think I'm going to reload the save I used and romance Dorian for this playthrough and then do another one for the Iron Bull. And then another for Cassandra. And then a female inquisitor playthrough. And then a nightmare playthrough. And possibly a female elf playthrough for Solas.

I'm going to be playing this game a lot.

EDIT:
So I then went to talk to Dorian and his dialogue options are still there for the romance, you can lie and say you're not in a relationship with someone else. Hmmmmmmm

Bears are the fucking worst.

Fuck bears. Fast travelled to a camp, got attacked by three bears literally at the camp entrance.

I'm getting used to the KBAM controls fairly quickly, so its not horrible but it certainly aint great - and overhead tactical camera is still garbage. Like, they finally freed the tactical camera of the constraints focusing on the party members but somehow they did it in a way that was actively shit

Also my quasi completionist tendencies are kicking in so I've been in-game for about 18 hours and I haven't even completed the Hinterlands section holy shit.

Concur with 'Fuck-the-beers'. >_>
Are those bastards made out of diamond or what?

I left the hinterlands after a few hours, glad I did.
I like hacking at it an hour or so at a time whilst visiting other places. :P

Anyone else find the Dragon in the Hinterlands and get burnt to ash instantly. :aah:

Dude stay away from that until you're at least level 13, preferably 14 or 15.

I just killed it! I was at level 15 and it still put up enough of a fight that all my potions were used and I had to resurrect multiple times. Gooooood fight though, closest thing I've had to a boss fight.

Satsu you should come back to the Hinterlands later. Although I think my save was at about 12-15 hours before I left (same deal, completionist). In fact you have to leave and come back multiple times to get it all done :D.

I'm fucking off TLS until I'm done with this game. Apparently the only place on the Internet I can remain comepletely unspoiled (gameplay, story, images) is in my friend circle on DreamWidth.

See yous!

I think it explains why Leliana is so moody, imagine having to put up with those crows all day.

I want to kill the crows in the library so fucking much

Library?

Does the Inquisition leave Haven and setup somewhere else?
Or do you upgrade Haven to include a library?

My main story line quests are to find Mage's in Redcliffe or find the Templar's, I'm fairly certain I'm going to have to choose a side.

But what if I choose the wrong one? :scared:

The answer to that question would be a spoiler, play and find out :monster:

Re: choosing that quest:
One of those quests locks out the other, but it tells you that on the board. There isn't a wrong choice so to speak, but everyone will have their preferences. Just be careful about doing either of them because the Templar one showed up for me until I did some other stuff to unlock the choice between the two.
