I can't decide if the PC/Xbox thing is a good idea or not?

It's good for us and all, but it doesn't exactly give anyone who doesn't have an xbox a reason to get one.

Project Scorpio is going to come out in 2017 giving our competitor, who already has a dedicated 4K console and their own VR headset in the works, plenty of time to work to sit back relax and watch this go to shit!

In all it wasn't a bad conference, did expect them to say oculus will be compatible for xbox one and by the sounds of it it will be. Perhaps the best game for me during that conference was Scalebound, like the look of that and you know, Dragons!!

Forza: Horizon 3 also looked good, new location and new cars. Should be fun.

I'm pleased because it means I can play any game I want now since I have a PC (although I'll come right out and say I wasn't actually interested by any of the MS exclusive titles).

I've been watching YouTube Live at E3 and Kyle Bosman was talking about the conference afterward. In his own words, "they had a huge negative to announce, which is that they no longer have actual real exclusives on XBox. I think they spun that positively very well". Gotta agree there.

It's one of those rare games I can just jump into at anytime that's not too complicated. I'm currently playing through the Thieves Guild storyline right now, it's one of my favourites. <3

I filmed my reaction about an hour ago (currently catching up on everything because it's on at stupid o'clock over here) and I genuinely looked like I was going to cry of happiness.

I didn't watch the MS conference but someone posted what I assume were the proposed specs at the event. If the post was correct Scorpio is going to be expensive as fuck lol.

I'd say 700$ at least.

And that's just being conservative. If they are being honest about native 4k and not just upscaling 1080p to 4k (which looks terrible) a 700$ rig won't be able to pull that off.

Nvidia just released the next generation of cards for this year so in a few weeks the third party variants will be released (cheaper, stronger , more power efficient over the reference model Nvidia sales). Would be interesting to see if MS pulls the trigger and springs for some 1080's in the Scorpio :reptar:

For reference the GTX 1070's and 1080's start at 700$ lol , but once other manufacturers release their model I'd say we might see some as low as 500$ soon.

So I watched the shitty little trailer. Those specs are vague as fuck but as a comparison point Xbone has 68gb mem bandwidth and it's card runs at 1.31 tflops to put it in comparative terms.

Scorpio trailer boasted 320gb bandwidth and 6tflops.

Following the same comparisons though the GTX 1080 is also 320gb bandwidth but with 9tflops.

All current benchmarks for the GTX1080 have it running games like Tomb Raider and Hitman with all settings maxed and on 4k resolution and it sits at 40fps TBF though this is due to AA/MSAA being pumped to the max and a lot of people argue that AA is unneccessary at 4k. If you turn off AA you generally double FPS at 4k.

So idk. Definitely need less vague specs for one but even then that trailer is definitely PR BS lol. There is no way they are gonna have a 4k console that doesn't sacrifice other aspects of fidelity to run at a smooth 60fps unless they have a deal made for a card that doesn't exist yet and they just pulled specs out of their ass expecting console players to just be wow'd by the big numbers (I mean they seriously said "highest quality pixels" in the damn thing :facepalm: )


Worth noting. Bandwidth and Tflops don't say a hell of a lot and this is speculative. For comparison with just that information shared you could also say the proposed specs are very similar to the Rx480. A 200$ card coming out soon that's VR ready , but definitely not 4k ready :reptar:

Also worth noting that Scorpio is a long time away and the specs they vaguely name dropped are ok for today. They will be shit in 2 years when it releases :monster:

I'm just hoping that FFXV doesn't end up being bombed, or else that's the end of the Final Fantasy franchise all together for good. I don't want it to be a bad game.

Looking forward to World of Final Fantasy. It's adorable and fun, even though I won't be there, since I'm in Australia.

Can't wait for KH 2.8, looks awesome! My focus actually is all three of these games this year.

Kind of looking in to see how the new Zelda game would work out. It was supposed to be released this year, but due to the new Nintendo NX, that new console's the only reason why that game is delayed for another year again.

And looking forward to see more of Pokemon Sun/Moon, though those games aren't gonna be at E3, but hey, this year, September, October, November and December will be pretty busy in the gaming world.

Why, do you ask? Simple.

September: The end of Kingdom Hearts X(Chi) PC game(since it's being terminated with an ending, for once), the worldwide release of FFXV, though in Australia, I think it'll be the first of October since we're a day ahead of America.

October: World of Final Fantasy world wide release.

November: Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon world wide release(including China).

December: Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue world wide release.

The top four most wanted games(at least in my experience) being released this year. Though I do have to groan-why do we always have to wait for another six months for releases of games?
