Nice! Sounds like it came with both the original aired episodes and the director's cut (which I think changed episodes 21-24)? Or are there even more differences?

Also does the edited live-action EoE sequence have any new content? (Importantly, does it explain THE CAT???) Or is it that long, goofy deleted one where the seiyuus play their live-action characters and Asuka complains to Rei about her sex life?

Either way that sounds like a great investment ?

the live action extra has been around since the 2003 japanese box set. i don't know if it was ever included in other releases outside of japan. i know i've seen at least clips of the live action sequence, but i don't think i've seen the whole thing. or if i did i have forgotten and now i get to see it in hd.

i only own the old us dvd set (the one with the black and red box which ngl still looks cool), which i think only has the broadcast version of the episodes? i don't think it had the new scenes. then they released that platinum set which had the home video versions of the episodes but i never got that. i downloaded little clips of the new scenes on my old slow modem so i've never seen on a proper tv.

plus there's a test screening version of eoe with a love&pop feature at the end and i want to see this

but i now do kinda want the original version of the box set, with the booklet (which is a reproduction of the booklets from the laserdisc releases i think?), but i don't want to spend that much money

but if i ever get rich, that's it. i'm buying all this stuff. my bougie lifestyle will be all eva merchandise

(oh man i just remembered they released an eva smartphone and now i want that)

(anno please let me make a version of eva that everyone will hate including me)

back in december i bought a bunch of stuff from auctions via buyee but i got too much and tried to consolidate everything into one package but then i had to pick international sea mail since that was the cheapest, but i still haven't gotten my parcel. it's been like 3 months and all i can think is that my parcel has sunk to the bottom of the sea and i will never see it. the estimated delivery time is 1-3 months but the tracking info hasn't updated since it left japan. what if it arrives and it's all battered and ruined. moral of the story, don't bundle six items into one shipment and don't buy all these things at once.

this is on topic because i got a copy of the red cross book (cinema pamphlet from end of eva, copies of the eva extra magazines from the rebuild films, and one of the eva psp games with a bonus kaworu phone stand from some cola promotion thrown in

instead i bough books of the screenplays of the original series and eoe. there's also books of the storyboards and i am going to need someone to physically restrain me so i don't buy anything else right now

I'm going to assume it's THE Eva doujin, I decided to check it out because I remembered hearing it was very well regarded. It's a shame it's only hosted on shitty hentai sites though, the porn is so superficial, the actual story is really well told.

Also, I think I've had enough "genocide" for a while lol. You know what I mean.

It doesn't surprise me there's a pornless version, those scenes don't add too much besides the fact that Asuka gets pregnant, which is a big plot point. It's just weird to me because outside of the few sex scenes, it really is just a very well done happy ending to eva that brings Shinji and Asuka's arcs to a good conclusion. My only issues with it are that Rei takes a back seat most of the time, and Ghendo is barely in it.
