I don't have much of an opinion either way about him, though I appreciate what they were trying to do with him.

HowEVER, I will say it was a really good idea to add someone with a connection to what happened in Sector 7. That was a smart move as A) it's something Avalanche still feels guilty about and B) it does add some perspective on that event from the normal people that lived there. But this is off-topic, sorry.

This is one of my favourites:

It's not epic/complicated/whatever, but I love it because a) it shows them with the original clothes (SO rare to see them like this in fanart today!) and b) it's refreshing to see Tifa relaxed and c) Cloud SO embarrassed. It looks to me like he's desperate to keep his "badass, awesome SOLDIER" persona, but he's failing miserably. XD

^Pretty much this. Denzel would have been rather bland and random, but the fact that he's from Sector 7 makes him interesting. At least, he makes the world more intersting, and gives Tifa's guilt about the event some added depth.

I always did wonder why Cloud doesn't feel guilty about Sector 7, though.
