Even if Aerith did forsee her death I doubt she actually would have wanted to die. She was just willing to do what it took to save the world.
Kind of like Yuna in FFX. I hate it when people are all like, "Why does Yuna want to kill herself?" SHE DOESN'T! But she thinks it's the only way to save THE WORLD.

I felt that death was foreshadowed; but I agree that Aerith didn't want to die, perhaps she didn't even expect to die. Someone had to go to the planet - those words, in that order, can be understood in so many different ways. I feel the thought may have come to her, when at Cosmo Canyon, but it was swiftly taken up with future events as well - what I just said - the different meanings that 'going to the planet' has.

Reunion Files. He said that Marlene's been with Tifa for most of her life, and really looks up to her, and that in a way, she's like a mini-Tifa. Then he adds that Marlene kind of resembles Aeris (even though she has brown/hazel eyes and near-black hair like Tifa), so she sort of has both girls "in her" or some shiz like that.

I don't see how Sakurai talking about BluRay and PS3s, and Sakamoto playing Lightning is meant to be some kind of hint towards C/A just because it's in the same advert. That's reaching too far, if anyone seriously thinks it means something.

Random Promised Land shiz: I thought that Promised Land was simply heaven... or the Lifestream. It's not like everyone has their own special PM, ala the mormons (or whatever religion it is that believes yo have your own special heaven/place. I forget).

I thought the Promised Land was supposed to represent everyone's eternal happiness and joy. The Promised Land is different for everyone - it can be for their children, for their family, but everyone's is different. The Promised Land for the Ancients however, is the Lifestream.

I know that they can be flippin' ridiculous, so I understand your annoyance and frustration. I just think that ignoring them sometimes is good.
I've always thought that the Promised Land as heaven, because I've seen heaven referred to as "Promised Land" in books and shiz. Well, heaven or California.
Well, not only that, but there was this one Clerith who trolled my forum the other day... and showed pictures of people getting hanged.... slitting their wrists... some more stuff. They keep coming and just spreading shit. It was really disturbing, but anyways, yeah. I'll try ignoring them, thanks.

In the book of Exodus in the Bible the Promised Land is where Moses is supposed to be leading the Hebrew slaves after he frees them from Egypt. It is said to be a land abundant in milk and honey. But the Hebrews sin and as punishment they have to wander the wilds for forty years or so until all the people who did so died, so they become a nomadic people wandering from place to place until finally one day they are allowed to finally stop and they all are able to go there. Moses dies before this but...his son(? don't remember it's been a while) leads them on.
See a comparison with a certain video game we all enjoy? Hebrew slaves = Cetra (at least as far as the nomadic thing goes, and maybe even them all being killed off by Jenova could be how the sinners all had to die), and abundant in milk and honey = abundant in mako. Seriously there's a lot of stuff in VII that's taken straight from the book of Exodus.
And then of course we all know how Charlton Heston parted the koibito sea for the pink faithful.

Oh, they've flip-flopped away from their koi(space)bito nonsense. The latest I've seen them argue is that koibito can be one-sided, so Tifa is a koibito to every guy who's ever been attracted to her.
