Edit: Okay so Open Broadcaster is a kickass software. Just saying. If you're producing a stream with multiple screens/ stuff, use this one. It's incredibly simple while offering everything you need.
Almost died in Subterra; killed Ixion and Fafnir.
I've realized that the way I play must be incredibly boring to watch. I set the battles to wait, and I change a lot of equipment during battle. And I walk around. A LOT.
I want to stream a game that forces me to play faster, so it's not boring as hell to watch. I'm thinking of borrowing equipment to import from my PS3, and do XIII and XIII-2 this fall for the LR:XIII warm up. Maybe do some kind of thing where people can log in to my computer using Team Viewer and watch the stream with less lag, and then be on Skype with me (if they want to). Then people could join the Skype call when they have time and want to. That could be a cool community thing.
Hi and thanks to Splinty and Lic for joining, and Ryu and Marcus who showed up at the end. I missed my regular though, I hope he drops by sometimes later.
I think having a cam in the stream is a good idea because it lets people see who's playing, even if it's just a very small picture. I got the idea from another XII stream I saw on Twitch. He talked though. I guess it would be nice to do that as well, but I'm very self conscious about my accent and voice. If someone were there with me I guess it would feel less weird. I'm glad I had the courage but I feel very weird about it still.
Maybe I have the courage to add my voice tomorrow.

Okay I'm streaming my faec and boring stuff again, occasionally distracted by my bf playing Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 (he's finally playing console games!! YAY!!)
I'm hunting Rare monsters (or, trying to look for them). I don't blame you if you find this extremely tedious to watch. But then again I live in a country where one of the TV hits last year was a 24/7 live stream from a ship. It went on for 5 days.

Okay so today I found the last pieces of the Medallion and then I fought Behemoth King.
It took two hours.
I don't know whether to be embarrassed about how slow that went or how clueless I must be, or congratulate myself for having patience and/or beating him at a low level.
But basically I think any enemy in this game can be beaten at any level, really (with certain exceptions of course, you need at least Bubble and some good equipment) as long as you have patience.

Yesterday: Ventured into the hidden part of Henne Mines looking for Zodiark and was almost wiped out in this room of 4 of those flying fuckers and 3 of the slime balls. Djisus they are awful. I really should find some Ribbons and Excalibur (I've heard Evade does little to nothing in that place) before trying that again. Holy is super efficient though, it does at least 9999 damage to those flying things every time.
So this means I must go into the Crystal at Giruvegan. Again. It also means I should go to Cerobi Steppe to try spawning Ribbon chests.
In other words, dull grinding coming up.

The Great Crystal is a truly awful place. I could live with it if the map wasn't disabled. There's not even a Gate Crystal inside it or anywhere near it, so you have to go all the way through Giruvegan every time, which is also a pain. But the Excalibur is super-useful and worth the trip. Find and fight
while you're at it, if you haven't already done so.

Yeah the map annoyed me too. Luckily I had a lot of patience that day so it didn't bother me too much. When I've been going back there I have been using this map though. Couldn't live without it. I did fight Ultima the last time I was there. I think I have two Espers left iirc, Zodiark and Chaos.
Regarding today's activities, this pretty much sums it up:
I did get to stream/ listen to the entire soundtrack of the game, though (that thing lasts 4 hours and 50 minutes by the way) - I put it on a bit into the stream, and I started streaming after I'd already been trying for a good while.
The madness is recorded for proof here. In my confusion I must have kicked a wire or something because the stream ends abruptly when I finally get it, but it continues here .
And I thought the Rabanastre Cockatrice was bad.

And then there is Zodiark. But I can't promise I will be doing random stuff before doing him, lol. That will be in a few hours (Lex?)

Well I DID train on using Quickenings after he killed me the first time, but I had no idea Zodiark turns totally vile after dropping under 20% HP. Apparently he has 3 stages after getting under 20% - 10%, Critical and Almost Dead, to which he does stuff like becoming immune to physical hits, needing no time at all to charge a magic attack, and getting super strong.Okay so the best thing is probably to save MP to kill him with Quickenings. I agree to that. That, along with the Shell Shield & Dark absorb shields, Shell, Black Masks, Bubble Belts and fast weapons is probably the best tactics.
HOWEVER, now I can say that I 100% beat him without using Quickenings. And since that link you posted is looooong, I put together a 9 minute video of the end of the fight instead:
