Chapter 3 -
I did everything except find one old key I was tired of all the wandering around at the end so I just left it. Laguna's antics with Kiros and Ward's face palmy/mock banter type attitudes playing off that is fun though, as is having an OP Galbadian Soldier team. My Laguna and Kiros had 2000~ HP but Ward didn't have the Curagas but it was ok, alternating between Mad Rush or Massive Anchor spam depending on the fight was fun, or you know just hitting auto attack/default attack command spam cackling at the poor doomed no chance solo Esthar soldiers. I also like the rainbow/crystal back ground effects in here.
Well the Esthar soldiers did get their revenge with a Soul Crush right at the end though.
During Chapter 3 I added Sacred and Minotaur to my deck (MiniMog (lost), Quistis, Ifrit, Seifer, Diablos, Zell, Siren, Sacred, Angelo, Minotaur) Not much difference otherwise.
It's quiet, but it's like a oppressive quietness/suppressed atmosphere. There's a lack of friendliness, restricted access, etc. It's kind of quite sinister really with all of those creepy security service/gym leader trainer type guys everywhere, and everything. Basically I agree with what Tres said here.
I thought maybe I was projecting while here knowing of future events, but then I didn't really like the place much first time through the game either
He's tall! I am always surprised by this when I replay FFVIII and see how tall some peeps, Seifer, Irvine, etc appear to be. I like it. People give Snow a hard time for being bigger than Serah, but you kind of see that here with Irvine and Selphie, and VIII was way before too so. I think it's really cute (Snow/Serah and Irvine/Selphie) People are just heightists or something
I quite like Irvine on the whole yeah, his play boy/pimp style was kind of off putting at first, but you see later he genuinely cares for people, especially Selphie and nowadays his antics kind of amuse me more than anything these days especially since Selphie, Quistis and Rinoa are more than capable of handling him in the scenes where he tries to pull anything anyway.
Favourite is not in Chapter 3
Basically what Clara said here. Only at first I started off all full of optimism, and hope, and confidence and all oh yeah I can do it this time! Much time later it's like yeah Funny thing is I never ask the guard for map, location detector or a clue in case that lowers SeeD rank, but then go down a SeeD rank from all the wandering around anyway. Oh well, at least Diablos learnt Encounter None while I was in there >__> Everyone went up a good few levels too (Squall/Rinoa/Selphie) <_<
I think I always/usually do this in FFVIII playthroughs.
Yes. It really is so cute. One of favourite summons, in FFIX, etc as well. I remember people being all excited thinking Vanille was going to have Carbuncle as her summon before too. I need to like actually try and do something with Carbuncle in FFVIII sometime though like run some sort of magic bouncing strategy or a Counter build or something.
Nope. Sewers were a breeze after the tomb and I quite enjoyed it really since Quistis had some new limit breaks to play around with, and then there was Zell being the man with Duel again.
Still quite enjoying it on the whole so far. Well I liked the Irvine stuff, most of the Laguna stuff, etc. Just kind of echoing what people have been saying here about Edea, the sorceress speech, Deling's fate, potent/atmospheric stuff yeah. It was nice to see her again, and her intro FMV, love that hair.
By the end of disc one I'd actually modded most of the non character cards I had, had some weapons upgraded, as well as the magics from using the other GF magic refine stuff/etc so my junctions were not too shabby either. Seifer went down in like two or three Perfect Renzokukens to the face (after I spent a while stocking his spells while waiting for Squall's HP to get low since it had been recovered), and Edea didn't last that much longer later, the odd thing was that for the Edea fight she never casted a single spell on Squall so he was wailing on her the whole time with Renzokukens in impunity, while Rinoa and Irvine who had started with full HP took all the pain but fight was over before their HP was lowered enough for them to really start spamming their limit breaks anyway.
Minotaur/Sacred were kind of interesting though since I'd ran out of Phoenix Downs from how long I was in the tomb so I had to draw Lifes so I coud raise characters back on low HPs for Limit Break spam.
During the dream sequence, did you fiddle with any of the levers? The detonator? The boulder? Did you find the Old Keys?

How is your card collection coming along? Have you come across any card rules you don't like in the card game?

What do you think of Galbadia Garden as comapred to Balamb Garden?

What city/town is your favorite out of those you've visited so far? What do you like about it?

Did you solve the puzzle of the Tomb of the Unknown King? What do you think of its design?

Did you acquire the GF Carbuncle?

Did you find it difficult navigating the sewers?
Nope. Sewers were a breeze after the tomb and I quite enjoyed it really since Quistis had some new limit breaks to play around with, and then there was Zell being the man with Duel again.
