Eh?
Could also be new original scenes, but if not it’s probably indicative of at least reaching the Temple of the Ancients in part 2.

Well, they're going to be teasy when the actors (Mocap and VA) post stuff so I'd definitely be keeping that in mind.

I really don't see them reaching TOA in part 2, its possible but I don't see it. Also, given the twist, I would expect that there will be new original scenes between Aerith and Sephiroph. So, it could mean anything. (why isn't there a shrug emoji?)

I just assume it’s a new scene with those characters. If the game is ~18 chapters, and it gets to the Temple of the Ancients, then we’re looking at huge swaths of the story cut out, which defeats the point of making it multiple games.

I mean. The chapters in the next game don't have to be 18 in number or any consistent length parallel to Part 1. Just like in novels chapters can be of arbitrary length. Can anyone say for certain what the number of chapters of the next game would even be?

Considering the padding in FF7R as a sort of side effect of only covering the Midgar section of the OG, could they get away with each location taking up one chapter in future installments provided each chapter is about the length of the longer chapters of FF7R?

There probably won't be chapters like 10 and 11 in the future remake parts since they have more space to work with, at least I hope so. That said, I also expect a lot of new plots and locations completely removed from what was in the original, since LARGE OPEN FIELD isn't exactly going to carry a game.

The individual sectors (occasionally coupled with reactors) in the first part were basically towns that encompassed a chapter each.
So assuming each location is a chapter long, any thoughts on how far the next game might go? Surely there’ll be a chapter or two at the end where we go full NOMURAAAAAAAAAAAAA
CHAPTER 69: WORDS AREN'T THE ONLY WAY TO TELL HOW YOU FEEL.

I've been leaning towards the Temple of the Ancients for a while. Wish we could just know now.

Same, the anticipation is driving me nuts.

I thought about drafting up a hypothetical breakdown of the chapters of future parts of FF7R just so I can compare it to the actual games when they’re out but I’m unsure where the best place to fit Yuffie would be since I’m assuming her introduction will be scripted instead of random.

If introducing the rest of the playable cast is a priority for SE to do in Part 2, but the Remake as a whole ends up being more than three parts, I could actually see them ending Part 2 right before the Temple of the Ancients being just as likely as it ending right after The Temple scenario. Especially if they want to do a major rewrite/addition to the Wutai subplot, it could end up being the setting for the Part 2 climax, as well as making why the party decided to go to the Temple explained more explicitly/significantly (since in the OG after Rocket Town/Wutai there’s barely any indication of where the player is supposed to go unless you accidentally discover the shack with old man telling you about the Temple and Dio having the keystone or accidentally landed the Tiny Bronco on the Temple’s subcontinent and tried to enter it). However, the Temple of the Ancients itself could also serve as an effective final area/dungeon for Part 2 as well.

Now, if introducing the rest of the playable cast is not an objective, and the Remake will be more than three parts, the next most likely ending point I could see being the return to Nibelheim/Nibel Mountains being the final area, with Vincent being perhaps a guest AI character to Part 2 like Red XIII was to Part 1. Also if they want another Sephiroth/Jenova related final boss, Jenova-Sephiroth is briefly encountered during that point in the OG. Also it could parallel/contrast with the beginning of Part 2 likely being the Nibelheim flashback to end Part 2 with Nibelheim as well.

Now if the Remake will only be three parts total, as I stated before, I think Aerith’s death or Meteor being Summoned/Weapons Awakening would be the best potential endpoint for a Part 2 out of 3 total, with a personal preference for the latter.
