Looking at that first post, I think it is the most thanked post I have seen anywhere on the forum:).

Today I realised something. Apologies if I'm the only one this was somehow lost on and if this is old news to you guys.

Kadaj was in love with Kyrie. Probably not earth-shattering to anyone here I realise, but it was to me since it only hit me an hour ago. Don't know how I could have missed it, since I recall her even directly asking him that at the end somewhere. Don't remember what he said though. Probably got angry:wacky:.

All this time, in my head, he'd gone looking for her to take revenge for his own death. I mean, he's obviously that kind of asshole. But I suddenly realised that if he'd wanted her dead, he'd have killed her behind the clinic that first time. I bet that souba makes really good goulash of people really efficiently.

After that I realised all his threats had always been of killing Evan. After Kyrie made it clear that she doesn't take well to his threats of killing her boyfriend, by shooting at him, he seemed to go all "Well if I can't have her, nobody can".

I guess I missed it since all that time I was just being so scared-shitless of, and angry at him that I completely failed to realise that he may have a fragment of a heart buried somewhere in all that bullshit.

Does Don Corneo live in this story? I mean, does he make it through alive or does he finally get killed off? Sorry guys, I'm late to the game and haven't gotten through the story completely.

He makes it out alive, for all the good it does him.

Airling: I hadn't thought about it like that, but you may be right. I'll need to reread it with that perspective and see if it clicks.

EDIT: Okay, I did some rereading. I don't think I see it. I feel like he only even really bothered with her because she knew Evan, and Evan was ever so indirectly connected to locating Jenova. Kadaj comes off to me as single-minded in purpose.

That makes sense to me too. Sephiroth probably wouldn't leave too much intact on someone he plans to use as a puppet, and they (the Remnants) had been floating around the lifestream for some time, so a lot of their original selves must have dissolved by then.

Perhaps Kyrie suspected he liked her before he died and since he miraculously came back she couldn't resist asking:lol:. And he's all like "Who cares. There's only one girl for meh now!". Actually, I still can't remember what he said.

Small question: I thought Sector 6 was unfinished, so how could Evan and his mother live there? Or did Shinra erect company housing as soon as that part of the sector's plate was built, without waiting for the completion of the whole? That would make sense, actually. I'm sure the city got very crowded very quickly.

Is it really plausible that he would need three days to walk round Midgar? I'm pretty sure I could walk from one side of London to the other in less than a day, if my feet were up to it.

^Can't remember where it was said, but iirc Midgar is meant to be fucking huge - bigger than London or L.A or (insert big city here can't think only just woke up), just that they did a shit job of representing that in the game.

Here be a thread (that you started :p) http://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14515

and a graphic for comparison

I only know of the "enough to completely encompass all of Tokyo’s 23 wards" reference as coming from the Early Material File of the Ultimania Omega, which means it's a pre-production concept that may or may not have carried over into the final product. See for example how the mechanics of magic were changed from the early concepts to the final game.

I for one would have loved it had it been that big. As it stands - Barret says
"Look... you can see the surface now. This city don't have no day or night." "If that plate weren't there... we could see the sky."

But like, we know you only have to walk just past Aeriths church to see the sky and the edge of the plate.

But imagine if it was as big as Greater Tokyo, there would be people born in the inner areas that would literally never see the sky (unless they made a special trip, and poor people obviously cant afford frivolity like that)

It would be a 1000 times more oppressive.

In official canon it *might* still be that big. I haven't heard any clear statements (aside from the height between the ground and the pizza) so it's possible that Midgar's canon size is in limbo.

It also wouldn't surprise me if the official size was "bigger than Tokyo" even after-the-fact of what Crisis Core showed us. I could see the writers pulling a "disparity between graphics and narrative canon" on us here.

What's the best way to release this thing? Either make an article and create a new page for each chapter. Or put a link to the forum post for each chapter.

Not sure whether to use this as the attached image, or the official book cover

I was thinking having a new page for each chapter (along with a table of contents page) would be best, then creating a news post that links to that table of contents. People could then navigate from there.

^This was my idea honestly. Each page should have its own chapter and we should put it on the site because the format on the forum isn't the easiest to read IMO.

Do you reckon it would be worth waiting until we have the main chapter section established before promoting it on my FB page?
