I'm not trying to be defensive of the remake one because I don't have a particularly strong feeling on this, I think they just look "different" rather than better or worse.
But I don't see how the Buster Sword looks heavier in the old one. It doesn't look particularly heavy in either but in the new one it is at least resting on his shoulder/deltoid. If anything it's "floating" in the old one.

If I have a criticism it's that we've lost his bright blue mako eyes

I’ve watched two so far, ep 1 and 4. As far as spoilers, they show some footage of later game stuff, but I think they’re much tamer than like the launch trailer.

It’s great to see some solid promo content released after the radio silence. And I am thirsty for more FF7 and for interviews with the Devs so these were a real treat today.

Also the fact they have the Musclehead Colosseum as a thing they expect visitors to be able to participate in I think indicates they expect skilled and dangerous combatants to be attending the Gold Saucer at least occasionally.

I wonder, will KH4 come out before or after part 3 of FFVIIR? There was like a gap of 7 years between KHDDD and KH3, but I wonder if KH4 will come out in 2026? If KH4 comes out in 2027, I wonder if that would make part 3 coming out in 2028 more likely? Late 2026/early 2027 is also likely when FFXIV's 8.0 expansion will be released.

Overall, video game sales across Europe were relatively robust in 2024. But it was a brutal year for new releases.

There were only three new games in the Top Ten, and two of them are part of annual franchises: FIFA, Call of Duty and Helldivers. Outside the Top 10, Space Marine 2 is at No.12 and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is at No.13.

Games like Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age: The Veilguard... are all outside the Top 30.

Even good games in established franchises are struggling.
