I agree with this. Lightning makes me want to make the thunder roll (does that even count as innuendo?), but Fang's something else entirely.

Because pop is pop, regardless of what culture it is. Japanese people like pop, US people like pop, and people are fans of pop music from different cultures. People are gonna be fans of the genre. It has nothing to do with it being Japanese, and everything to do with people just liking it. Fans of US pop are the same way.

This was kind of my point. A lot of people seem to treat Jpop, or anything and everything even remotely related to Japan, as sacred. One of the main complaints I've been seeing pop up is that Leona Lewis shouldn't be doing the theme song because she's not Japanese. While yes, I could understand raising an eyebrow at the need to choose someone different, is it really all that terrible that she's British instead?

Doesn't Dissidia have songs by a Canadian rock band (Your Favorite Enemies, I think) in it? Sure, they're not pop, but they're still breaking tradition. Up till then, Final Fantasy games only had Asian pop stars as the music theme artists.

They used an American chick for the songs in X-2 instead of just reusing Koda Kumi.
