Gerard Way was apparently a friend of Kyosuke Himuro, and I think likewise for Takeharu Ishimoto and Your Favourite Enemies.

I guess Leona Lewis might be friends with someone at Square Enix US :monster:

I'm disappointed in the Leona Lewis announcement too. I'm not crazy about using popular comtemporary artists for video game music (English versions). Not that I'm being racist/stereotype or anything, I just think it takes away from the game.

In the case with Gackt or Angela Aki, for some reason I don't find it quite as detrimental because Jpop artists are regularly used for anime/movie/video game songs.

In particular, I love it when composers choose a not-as-well known artist who ends up being an amazing singer. A good example would be using Susan Calloway for the Distant Worlds release of Distant Worlds, and she did such an amazing job that she's going to perform a whole knew selection of FF songs, eg Melodies of Life, Suteki da Ne, etc

Leona Lewis is a pretty amazing singer, much better than some of the other artists out there, but I'm not crazy about having her sing for a game I've been anticipating for so long. It'll make it like, a-game-Leona-Lewis-sang-for. Not to mention her style in regard to video games is...meh. :D

Actually, I like Gerard Way, and the songs in Dissidia weren't terrible (I found them catchy). Plus, I've always had a soft spot for Lewis ever since I found out she is a gamer/Resident Evil fan. So it's not like I really have a problem with any of these artists I just find it odd.

I wasn't offended by any part of that announcement. Match 9th is actually sooner than I thought, so that made me happy.

And how many times is this theme song honestly going to play? If it's like 'Why', once at the end. If it's like 'Suteki Na De' or whatever it's called it'll show up once in a crazy make-out scene. Not that bad...

I liked the song too, even though I'm not into rnb. At least it's better than the Japanse one, imo.

Both songs are lovely but I actually don't know that much about her than this. I heard tell on another forum that she's apparently a huge RE fan, though.

IDK, I presumed that if Perez Hilton wrote about a person, said person is famous.
She won the X-Factor over here, she has done a couple of alright songs I suppose. Not a huge fan though, just isn't my kind of thing.
