Not sure how the free aspect works. I don't have the game, so I just paid $2.99 plus tax for each. As for how it tastes, I shall let you know soon. Waiting for my son's mom to get home. I'm not expecting to like it, though.

For an orange soda, which I tend to dislike, it's surprisingly decent. Smoother going down than most orange sodas, but not something I would choose over most anything else except in a case like this (i.e. FF-related).

How does one get A King's Tale, if one preordered the Deluxe Version from Square shop? I did not get any code or anything like that.

In Germany it was a preorder bonus on Amazon. Don't know if it was available for the rest of Europe...

Anyway, played a little of chapter 1. That Hammerhead music...is that Ishimoto? Sounds like his style.

I got my UCE earlier but I spent way too long trying to figure out how to get the weapon into the hand of my Noctis Play Arts. (I still haven't figured it out). :|

Mr. Howl is setting everything up for me right now because we got a new t.v. and I don't know how to technology. :|

I really hope this game is user friendly because I have no patience when it comes to figuring things out.

My favorite thing about it is the Amano case. Second favorite thing is the art book. Third favorite is the steel casing on the movie/game/soundtrack/anime. I wouldn't pay that much for a collectors edition again (save for FFVII). I'm not totally nuts about the Play Arts but if I were a collector, I'd appreciate the fact that it looks and feels like I couldn't break it very easily if I wanted to.

Guess I'm not easily impressed. For some reason as I was unboxing, it all just came across as, well...stuff.

It's a brand new FF and it's likely that multiple subjects are going to be discussed. Gameplay/story/exploits/merchandise etc etc.

I don't think there'll be that many threads on XV to warrant its own subforum to be honest.

Guys I don't even know when it's going to be delivered now. It was supposed to be delivered today, but "due to operating conditions", it's been delayed, and there is no update as to the delivery date/time on UPS's tracking feature. Amazon says "Nov 29-Dec 2". What????

I can't figure it out either. From the looks of it, it appears you're going to have to jam it in, but that would most likely break Noctis's hands or the weapons. So I just swapped out one of his hands out for the open palm one, and carefully leaned his engine sword and javelin in his hand/shoulder.

Also, still trying to figure out the DLC thing. It looks like if even if I just download it on my account without it having to be the primary account, it should be fine... But when the time comes when I get my own PS4 and make it my primary system, I still don't know. (and what will happen to the DLC when my cousin deletes XV's data, since it's a huge file.)

...it should be okay, right? RIGHT?!

...Or I could just not download it, according to the DLC paper, I've got 10 years to redeem it.

For my nonspoilery impressions - I got to the start of Chapter 3 and stopped. (It took me 5.75 hours. I didn't do EVERYTHING, but I did a lot of what was available in the first chapter.)

It's kinda striking how this starts the exact opposite of FF13 (and 10, and 7). It's technicallyp in media res, but the characters don't know that. So it just kinda starts like "here's an area, mess around for awhile." I could see why it bored Conan, as it starts slow unless you really beeline for the main quests, which I didn't. Once the wheels started turning, I definitely felt the drive to push forward, despite the fact that the quests did not slow down, haha. I accepted some stuff in my immediate vicinity in Chapter 3, and on top of the few things I still had left over from chapter 2, I'm currently sitting on 9 quests.

So yeah, no shortage of stuff. I posted a screenshot on the TLS Community on PS4 as I had a glitch where none of the water in the ocean appeared.

Spoiler: So the fish were just kinda flying around, lol.

After loading between chapters 1 and 2, the water returned. It also crashed once, but the autosave had just saved. So, imitating open world games that way, haha.

The FF music in the car is definitely fun, and there have already been some fun references, both to other FF as well as a general pop culture reference to two, which was surprising.

For the casting spells thing. Ignis can learn a command that pulls everyone back to you. That's a nice way to cast within a fight. But yeah the AoE stuff is rough, and of course that prevents Ignis from having an offensive skill.

That sounds quite handy actually. Generally when I want the extra boost in combat I use Tempest but I will miss his "Mark" ability if I get into a jam. Might have to tinker with it, see what comes up .

It's a convoluted process:

1. Open each screenshot individually to full screen view then take a screenshot with the PS4

2. Upload those to Facebook en masse

3. Save to computer (though I've been linking the Facebook ones directly to the LJ)

Some sort of photo download would be appreciated...

Yeesh Armiger sure 'hurts' to use. I hope there's Regen or HP Drain workarounds for using them.

Finally learned Deathblow too, so fights just got easier.
