There's so many phecking things to do! :femrage:

I had to take a break today because I think all this sitting on the couch is causing physical decay. :kermit:

Just don't expect to finish the game in one sitting when you're at that point :monster:

Well, I'm at the very last chapter, still in the same sitting. :closedmonster:

I'm honestly debating with myself on whether or not I want to leave it for tomorrow, but I just... UGH.

Fuck it.

Let's finish this out strong.

Btw, I absolutely hate that you can't climb onto the rock arches in Duscae and Cleigne. Some of these could technically be reached but the game just decides to wall them off with invisible barriers.

I fucking HATE invisible walls. At least make this shit plausibly unreachable instead of cockteasing me. =/

Any good ways to grind AP without going insane?

Go to lower level areas where you can kill enemies with one warp strike.

I do this:

Oh nice! I've been doing this with normal attacks & Voretooth...s (Voreteeth?), but using the shield in this area seems like an even better way to go about it. Hooray for AP farming! Then it's off to fight ALL the MA-X ANGELUS-0s I can find!

There's a part by a river where the road is slightly raised and you COULD walk under it, but invisible wall. That's the one point where I've been REALLY annoyed by it in the game.

Started my New Game +. Some observations under the cut, just in case. Nothing crazy.

You get to keep Noctis's Kingly Raiment and everyone else's Kingsglaive uniforms, woohoo!. All weapons, gil, items, etc. is intact, including the armiger weapons, which surprised me because you obtain some of them over the course of the story.

Survival skills stay at the same level.

But it looks like you do have to start over with doing your hunts though. Not thrilled with that, but oh well.

Also, even though I have 200,000 gil, I've apparently expended the last of my funds on the repairs for the Regalia. :monster:

I was wrong about the guitar tracks being done by Ishimoto. It was Tetsuya Shibata (whom I mostly know for his work on Devil May Cry 3 and 4). :treemonster:

Patch 1.03 is now up!

Wow, this just may be the coolest glitch ever.

You can permanently have Aranea join you, and thus have a five-member party:

Looks like this carries over into NG+
Hell yeah. I thought for sure they'd patch the shit out of that. I hope they leave it alone. Think you'll be able to
take Aranea into the fight with Aranea?

So, this just happened...

I give Iggy a 10 in style :treemonster:

I did Pitioss and got up the boob jump and then rage quit. I am not proud of it, but the thing consumed 5 hours of my life. But god damn it if I won't attempt a rematch. My gamer pride will not be sullied.

Therefore, here tonight I am announcing my intentions to livestream this bitch:

Edit: Why yes I do love MS Paint, why do you ask.

If you miss that jump, do you have to start over? On the video walkthrough I watched, it looked like most falls didn't set one all that far back.

It wasn't that I missed the boob jump once and had to start over. It's that I missed the boob jump over 120 times and had to start the room over.

Prompto gets a GDC panel for his camera.
Photos are what make a trip. In 'Final Fantasy XV', one of your camera-maniac best buddies, Prompto, will automatically take a picture of your adventure in the game for you. The snapshot he takes is not the classic screenshot that most users are familiar with. Instead it is a picture what Prompto actually sees in the game, enhanced with some fun features. Since no one does the same play, no one will have the same picture as you; the image represents your unique adventure. So, just as you do after a trip with your friends, you can share these photos on social media such as Facebook. This new feature changes the whole user experience of 'Final Fantasy XV' and is introducing the world to a new concept of gameplay sharing. This session will describe the design behind the system, through both UX and technical perspectives.

Takeaway
Attendees will walk away with a knowledge of how an auto-snapshot feature changes game experiences, how to use photos to characterize a game character, and technical knowledge for the design of automatic snapshot. Attendees will also gain inspiration for and knowledge of new generation game auto-recording features, and the creation of "emotional AI".

Intended Audience
Designers, artists, programmers, and anyone who is interested in user experience designing and emotional AI.

Okay so, as much as I generally like most of the soundtrack I have one criticism:

The town/outpost music in this game is generally incredibly generic and boring. Altissia is a gorgeous location and deserved especially beautiful music and instead they went for "generic, romantic, vaguely French accordion music" (despite Altissia being inspired by Venice).

Also, is it just me or is the sound mix kinda off? I feel like often the music sounds really quiet. I had to turn down the voice and SFX in the menu to make it stand out more.
Even then, the Regalia Type-F theme (plays when the radio is off) for example is ridiculously hard to hear over the engine noise. It's even quieter than the radio music!

I actually think the outpost and town music is refreshingly downplayed - I like the Americana sound of the gas stations and hammerhead and Galdin Quay is awesome. Altissia... does border on like a knock-off "Dollet" theme (Waltz for the Moon) which I hate but I feel like it does it better. It is odd hearing french music in an italian city. I feel Altissia should have had the living room music from Platinum Demo, but that's just me.

Everything else I totally agree with. The mix is obnoxious. Car music is hard to hear and until I turned down the SFX I didn't even know the Type-F had special theme music. :monster:

Double-posting because I have news. I actually managed to beat Pitioss tonight.

I figured I would go do some pre-gaming to sort out my attack strategy for Friday. I exploited the drop glitch which allows you to skip ahead to the 2.5 segment bypassing about 75% of the dungeon. And I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the boob jump - I was going to the wrong jump point (when I wasn't trying the "boob skip" trick) because I would drop down too early on the third round of rotations. Then I got to the final segment (it really is a dick how all that deep diving was designed to take you back to the first room), and reaped the appropriate rewards. Guess I "got gud".

Oh and don't worry, I still plan to do a twitch of me playing it on Friday. Because fun times had by all and should be good nerd rage fuel.

Pre-gaming? All it takes is a little liquor, eh? :monster:

I did not know this was a thing!

I looked into it, and it's crazy how fast you can complete the dungeon (only 1:34 in this recording!):

Congrats again.

1. Not quite what I meant by pre-gaming, but lord don't I suddenly want to include alcohol in my livestream. Maybe a shot every time I fall. Of course then I'd die of alcohol poisoning before I got through the front door... :monster:

2. Considering how close it was and where the "final button" was I just KNEW there had to be an exploit to reach that damned thing even faster. I'll tell you the reason there are no monsters here - if you could point warp this would be clearable in 15 seconds.

3. The drop glitch I'm referring to can be found in the "clear Pitioss in 6 minutes" video, where in the room with the floating platforms and death spikes you can jump against the far wall and land at the 2.5 Platformer segment or if you're really lucky, straight on to the boob jump. You can also exploit a minor jump glitch to access the room early by getting to the creepy redlight statue room and jumping off the edge and phasing towards the door underneath the platform. I guess a big old platforming playground like this with everything so interconnected will be full of new discoveries of ways to clear it.
