Duscae was better for the hype by far. That said I think Platinum Demo has a certain charm to it - mainly the dream-state feel and the music. But yeah it's over in 15 minutes like mediocre sex.

Main reason I post here today:
The Choco Mog Carnival is actually pretty awesome.
The events range from adorably simple to actually pretty fun, it's cool randomly popping into NPCs from the game just hanging out (I found Dino at the cafe and Wiz by the docks, though they don't say anything, they just are). The new outfits are pretty cool too, but by far the three best things about the event:
1. You can take photos manually now since Noctis is by his lonesome, which includes zooming and filters. This includes third-person selfies.
2. The Chocobo Race Obstacle Course is amazing.
3. There's a pretty decent shooting gallery.
4. (I know I said 3 but...) Hearing Noctis say "I've come up with a new recipe." (Which is totally different having heard Ray Chase actually say it at KupoCon. And we thought he was just doing an homage. )
There's fishing for prizes which is just fishing but with a sort of crane game rewards system in place, the rewards you can trade in your medallions for are okay (you can trade them for some usually rare item drops which is nice, including Rare Coins for those of you who aren't already level 99) SHAME SHAME SHAME.
There's a "whack-a-cactaur" which is okay, a few collectable quests, a series of photo challenges, a table waiting mini-game which is actually kind of cute but I think professional servers will find it a busmans holiday at best. There's a trio of decorating quests which require you to decode riddles. And Noct can do a "moogle dance".
If the Platinum Demo is really disappearing, then that makes the archivist inside me sad. That and the awareness that the Platinum Demo is a part of FFXV's continuity, and if that is made unavailable then a part of canon is being taken from the players.
Having a controllable camera doesn't mean shit if I'm still at 150/150 available photos! It's SO fucking annoying, because I really like the pictures that I have and I give ZERO fucks about taking new ones even though the system seems genuinely rad.
Also, does anybody know what the changes to level cap or whatnot are supposed to be impacting with the update on the 21st?

I don't see how it is a problem though when you can just save them on your harddrive? Just select the share option and it will automatically save the selected image in your gallery. You can immediately cancel and won't actually have to share it on social media for it to be saved.
I mean, I've shared most all of them on Twitter so they're backed up in some format, but I really wish that there was an "active" photoreel that gets used for the game stuff it gets used for
end credits
and just an ability to have a more easily accessible archive/backup of sorts for additional photos that you take and wanted to keep, or even just a "let you take these photos and THEN decide to keep them" system like you have with Prompto having 10+ photos in holding rather than a "you're at 150, you need an open space to even take a picture at all."
On my new game+ I have resolved to walk everywhere that I can, barring the required Regalia trips. Going for more of a backpacking experience than a Road Trip the second time around (though I'll probably break out the chocobos before too long to go to some of the distant-ish hunts).
Driving off-road might be fun for a spell but I agree, like Flying (which at least is mandatory for getting to Pitioss) I feel it's charm will wear out. The Type-F gets design points for sure though.

In other news, a YouTuber by the (screen)name of Ian McCutcheon has apparently found the entrance to Episode Gladio within the existing FFXV:
If this is correct, it makes a lot of sense. Gladiolus leaves the crew at Cape Caem, and his DLC will apparently take place in the Taelpar Crag -- which this tunnel seems to be going in the direction of.
Furthermore, the Taelpar Crag stretches from Cape Caem to Lestallum, where we reunite with Gladio in the main game while dealing with the daemon issue at the EXINERIS Power Plant ... which is powered by shards of the Meteor ... and which seem to have some relationship to the daemons in this upcoming DLC.
If I'm correct, it seems that the relationship between the Meteor and the daemons will be made blatant in Gladio's DLC, all but spelling out the source of the Starscourge, and explaining why daemons were able to get into the power plant (i.e. the shards powering the place were a conduit for the scourge parasite's entry).

Also of interest (to me at least), someone finally managed to reach
Insomnia before you're supposed to go there at the end of the game:
Final Fantasy XV is going to go down in history as the Final Fantasy with an equal amount of traversible out of bounds content as there is in-game content.
