Yeah I'd like
the ring to be like god-tier awesome and just REK EVERYTHING. Now it's just... meh. like idk, there's some FPS games where if you run completely out of ammo you get some crappy prop shooter which is terrible at everything. I'll admit some of the things are visually impressive, but they nerfed it to shit, making it unusable (against the patrolling wossnames), impractical, etc. I mean I just killed the patrollers with that dodge attack, but it takes forever. It's a fucking epic heirloom passed down through the aeons and which the guy was afraid to put on until then, just do the fucking Ring of Power thing and become fucking Sauron and murder everything. Give us a badass part and shit.

On that note, I kinda wished that the ten years of whatever the fuck Noctis did turned him into some kind of super sayian, and that part where you go through Insomnia would just be a steamloller of epic pwnage. Would've made that part a lot better I think. Instead... he's older. that's it. World went to shit and everyone's dead or whatever, but at the same time nothing really changed in ten years. boo. give me god-tier shit.

I agree, but use Banish. After using that to beat the spider lady and such behind Prompto, I jsut started using it on every guard.

Admittedly, making the ring insta-kill everything in that segment does kinda completely ruin the vibe they were going for. They could probably just buff it some so it's not a completely untenable strategy.

Hrmm...
Perhaps I underestimate how much of the length is down to tediously killing enemies. I just thought it was just a long section by design where nothing really happens- but sometimes I confuse myself when I've only done something once.
It was also pretty late when I started the chapter, lol.

Without the unnecessarily long battles, it would be way shorter, yes. I've watched walkthrough videos to test it. Some players even speed up the recording for segments where they spend several minutes dealing with a random Magitek dude in a hallway.

Several minutes killing a random Magitek soldier? I don't get it. Whenever I wanted to kill something, most of the time it took a short while?

I had the feeling the section was long because of the dungeon itself, not the enemies. Not to mention you get the sword when there's still a good chunk of dungeon left.

Unfortunate news: They've patched the glitch that allowed you to get
Aranea as a semi-permanent party member
.

Given the popularity of that character and the glitch, I can only hope this has happened because they intend to provide a way to do this legit.

I don't understand where people are getting this nonsense of taking seven minutes to kill random enemies. I never had that issue.

But then I was over-leveled by like 20 levels so idk :monster:

Speaking of the Carnival, my new headcanon is that this whole thing was an elaborate hallucination Noct experienced after the events of Chapter 9, partially explaining why
Gladio gives him such a hard time during Chapter 10. He had to run this dude down as he darted about the streets of Altissia taking part in hallucinatory festivities.

The only thing wrong with that outfit is that you can't get one for the whole crew. How badass would it be to run around the countryside as this unstoppable mariachi band?
