By the way, this epic lol apparently comes from that limited issue FFXV book mentioned in Lulcielid's recent link that gave some news about Episode Gladio.

Sooo, yeah, this is apparently from an official thing. Even SE seems to feel the need to compare these two and convince you that Luna is seriously just so much better than that dumb cunt they had to delete and replace 'cause of her dumb cuntyness.

And why is Luna so much better? 'Cause she brushes a gun barrel out of her face in a scene where the presence of the gun and the soldier holding it makes no sense in the first place, and instead feels like it was left over from a revised scene they'd already done the CG work for.

I'm not mad about this, mind you. I think it's funny as fuck.

I'm just going to be over here lol-ing and awaiting the fireworks.

Bahamut is a dick for killing Noctis off with the line 'people sacrifice for the King, now you must sacrifice all', effectively making Noctis a ruler of nothing. Way to go killing off your protagonists yet again Square Enix. Unless there's something legit about afterlife, this is utter morbid crap, even for Luna/Stella. Dissidia and FFVII Remake better be good, 'cause after this I may quit being an FF fan for a while. Damn tragic Necro-writers ruining everything.

1. It has been well established from Kingsglaive (to say nothing of how they fucked over Ardyn) that the Gods of Eos are dicks.

2. My sister actually had a great observation about this. Noct puts on the Ring of the Lucii after "The End of Days". When Nix put on the ring the Kings of Yore said that his powers and life would end when the sun rises. While it took 10 years, the exact same thing happened to Noctis.

I'm giggling about the "strong female" thing becasue it's another thing that the FFXIV team nailed multiple times. And it's not even something they were probably trying to do. It's just that they have a habit of making well thought out characters in general and around half of them are woman.

Which I wonder is part of the problem. If you announce that you're making a character with the intention of them being strong, you give yourself and invisible bar the character has to reach before people agree with your characterization of them. Not announce what your goal is with a character and then there's no standard for them to meet.

Well, not a story spoiler at any rate. But I'm going to say much has been spoiled by this nonetheless. =P

That's a silly comment. Revealing a premise wouldn't be the same as claiming that a game's story will challenge your notions of morality or that its gameplay will redefine what you expect from its genre. In the same sense, giving information about a character's role isn't the same as insisting they bear a quality you should have allowed the story and character to convey by experiencing it.

Feeling the need to tell players they should perceive a character a particular way is a great way of ensuring they won't feel the character lives up to it. Especially when you have a scene where

the character you want to convince us is strong and independent asks her douchey brother of unexplained, mercurial motivation to finish her job for her (and he has to put her back on course)

The level-locking item seems like it's gonna be good along with the NG+ for challenge runs depending on how the NG+ mechanics work. It's gonna be tough times for me having to wait until min-January to be able to place any of the DLC though (although vacation will be making up for the time away from my PS4).

I love the story to bits, so I'll just be glad at better options to binge-through it all in one go – especially as they start updating it to improve the parts in the second half.
