It makes me really interested in how these developments are synergizing with FFVIIR having multiple characters who all fight very differently, and if that's at all played into why they've been holding off some of the news, so that FFXV can essentially act as a distant beta test to those sorts of features before the show them off.
• Square Enix plans on sharing details on the new content sometime within this year. After that, they’ll follow up with official announcements with more detail on what kind of content, its release timing, and how it’ll be offered.
• Hajime Tabata says that he wants to deliver at least three episode-style DLC in 2018.
• The first has been confirmed for Ardyn. There was many who pointed out that story for the world is lacking, but Square Enix will make sure to tell us more about Eos in the episode for Ardyn.
• Tabata wants to release the next content when it’s in a state that can guarantee satisfaction. The focus won’t be to release it within 2018, but to go with the direction of having each and every new content be satisfactory before releasing.
• Furthermore, Tabata wants to make something that will bring back those who cleared the game and lost interest.
Episode Ardyn was just what the game really needs, but also the character swap was a good news. I suppose that the next dlc will be about Luna and maybe ..Noctis? Episode Regis please
I gotta say, I'm happy they're fixing the load times in Comrades, but at the same time, the character-swap seems to reflect each individual character episodes' mechanics.
I don't really know what this will ultimately mean as far as how character equipment goes, but it will add a brand new dimension to longer fights (like Max Angelus). I'm kinda hoping you get to "keep" control of specific characters between fights, but I'm not sure they'll go that far.
I want to see more side characters get playable though, as always, there's never enough of that... even if they're very brief (Aranea seems like she'd be playable too, especially in a certain chapter, Cor too).
All of this "feeling" I get from FFXV will eventually culminate in Dissidia NT, but still... it's the kind of thing where you don't feel it's "complete" until you experience all the things they intimated would happen at some point... whether that's hijacking a Magitek or smashing a soldier's head on a car window... or grabbing a gun and shooting enemies.

I think that most everything is already in place, thanks to the DLC (though I am curious about Prompto's rockets and ammunition). I'm pretty sure for story reasons, you'd still be wandering around as Noctis all the time outside of Combat still, since he's still the protagonist character.
Also, I'd expect Aranea, Cor, & Iris to come along as being playable in an update of some kind in the near future once they ensure that the extant system isn't buggy. Additionally, having that as a content piece of DLC makes sense, especially since the poll looked at all of them, (as well as Luna & Gentiana) as being playable characters – and the episodic DLC is how they built the mechanics for controlling the Chocobros. Plus, we already know that Ardyn's story's gonna be told, but not whether or not it's AS him, or as someone else.

I'm really loving how it's growing, but I feel for the people who really just want it to have a GotY complete version already. Sorry for you guys, but I want this to keep going so long as there's good content to be had.
you have half of one of my ears after one year tabata
make it count
(But also I will probably still wait until all the story "adjustments" (read: completion) are done. Which based on this ATR is looking like 2019 at the earliest).
This is not me being negative. This is me saying I'm now interested again. I had planned to do a playthrough next year when the patches were all done, now that period has been substantially extended. I don't want to play it again if they're going to add more story/ cutscenes shortly afterward, I want the full experience.
Following up on my post from the other day, I've made those modifications I mentioned to my Elder's Bow -- so I now have 100% resistance to every element (including Dark and Shot) in addition to having crazy high Strength and Vitality:
I also discovered that I'm still able to heal myself for 200 to 300 HP at a time with my basic Cure spell even with my Magic and Spirit stats being 0 -- which should be sufficient for most circumstances that ever come up considering my
- high HP
- high Vitality
- newfound invulnerability to all(?) magic
- sword that heals me a little after every six strikes with it
- Elder's Bow is set up to restore 20 MP after every six strikes with it as well
I may play around with building one more weapon (the best shuriken), but I'm probably more or less done with the expansion now and will be getting back to the main game pretty soon.

Also, have this awesome "Monster of the Deep" image from the official Twitter:
I think I played with you the other day , (I think) I recognise the Avatar and name!! I remember playing with someone incredibly overleveled with a similar appearance and name. It may be my mind playing tricks but... did you happen to play with a party around level 10? Can't remember which hunt...
It's certainly possible. I've gone back to some of the earlier quests several times to acquire some items for weapon modding.
What's your character's name? I broadcast all my gameplay to YouTube, so if you let me know what to look for I can go back and review my videos from around that time to see. =)
I didn't think that it came across as being a "literal" older brother. It's very much his role in acting as an advisor and pushing him forward when he stops that you can see even in the Brotherhood anime shorts. Noctis not having an actual sibling makes it even more important for him to have a confidant like Ignis, and him being an actual son of Regis' just doesn't really make sense to complicate things.

Don't worry about it!! I have a couple of characters, but considering one of them is "Alex Strife", it would've been hard to miss it was me . So I assume if we did really happen to be on together, it'd be with the other character, name being "Shinobu" (it's a female avatar).
I like fan theories like this. Who cares if they're popular or not. Reminds me of the good old days when people would break their heads coming up with reasons for things. Bugs me when *legitimate sources* come out and say things like
Rinoa is definitely absolutely positively not Ultimecia
