Just be glad this isn't Tekken 7.

(P.S. I tried revisiting Pitioss in First Person Mode... I could get around, but not without making mistakes, and it's actually MORE disorienting when you've already cleared the place, so I'll wait to try and clear it again when the place resets.)

I've been thinking that it might be fun to try a NG+ using Armiger Unleashed, Black Hood, & Rare Metal. (Although one could swap the Black Hood for the Adamantite Bangle if things get TOO tough).

Frankly you don't even need Black Hood in NG+. Your MP is high enough you can essentially just hold Square and dodge everything at Level 120.

In fact, it's better to dodge everything as it builds up your Armiger gauge more quickly.

HP Damage (from enemies) > Builds Tech Gauge
MP Dodging (Blink) > Armiger Gauge

The same applies once Armiger Unleashed is active:
Blink > Fills up Armiger Tech gauge (this actually fills automatically as you do combos too)

The only stuff you have to worry about is unblockables (stuff that can't be Blinked) or getting attacked during attack frames during Armiger... that's why optimally you'd have a Magitek Suit Attire equipped to maximize your combo, as the only way you can get hit out of Armiger is if you lose all your HP.

Fun facts:
• I have still not reached Level 120 in FFXV. I'm still about 109 or something thereabouts.
• Despite all of the MAX Angelus-0's I've destroyed, I have still never received a single Magitek Suit V2.

Regardless of one’s personal likes/dislikes in regards to FFXV, it really is amazing how much support the development team continued for creating new content for the fanbase (though I am personally glad I forsook getting the Royal Edition, since I want to wait for the potential “Extra Complete” edition that will come out after all remaining DLC is released in 2019).
Though this definitely implies that the FFVII Remake’s first part won’t be coming out in the first half of 2019, definitely the latter half of 2019 if not November/December.

For me, it's not so much my personal feelings towards XV, but what this could mean for the eventual structure of the VII:R if they are really finding this to be a successful model to use going forward.

I feel like with FFVII:R we're looking at a fundamentally different scenario. FFXV is expanding on a bunch of individual DLC because of the struggles that it went through in its development process and how much got left on the drawing board to actually release a viable game.

I think that insofar as what they're likely learning from FFXV is how to make a bunch of unique characters feel balanced in a team where you can swap between them actively. While I DO think that we're gonna see post-launch support for the game that extends its life, I'm pretty sure that the fact that FFVII:R is being released in sections is already going to be some form of that, but also fundamentally different in how they piece it together and where they make changes to things.

Lastly on that note: The fact that they're doing the Ardyn, Aranea, Luna, & Noctis DLC release back-to-back at the start of 2019 is REALLY interesting to be, because the main reason for doing that seems to be pulling in a bunch of focus for a finale, and also to clear space out for the rest of the year. I'd guess that this means that they'll have something planned to pick up the mantle after that, and it feels like FFVII:R would fit nicely in that time slot, which HK3 possibly taking up the lul between FFXV updates in 2018.

BUT WHO KNOWS. ONLY TIME WILL TELL!

But that is the very heart of my concern - that each 'section' will not be complete, missing key or multiple side story segments which will then be released post launch (most probably a mix of free and paid DLC) in order to cover the gap before the next main 'section' release. This pattern will be repeated until the main game is complete and then we'll get additional Zack DLC and the like.

I think it's more than just fixing the mistakes of the current game, there is obviously a profitable model here for them to use. I just hope that VII:R is more 'complete' than what I fear they might do.

But you're right ... only time will tell.

I don't think that XV has at any point left out any key or side-story segments – even in its original released version. It's tightened up things, and added some good stuff after-the-fact with where it was lacking, but again – those are all relics of its decade-long troubled development that those bits needed improvement. Beyond that, everything that's been added has been a result of community interest in various things that weren't detailed.

FFVII:R being released in sections in the first place is already a version of this model at play, so there isn't a need to do micro-expansions like XV has done to address everything that was left on the table. With FFVII:R it's especially hard to guess, because we still don't know how those sections will work with things like character levels, etc.

Still, I don't see anything inherently wrong with building a living game model for a game being released in parts to keep players engaged over time, especially because it's really good financially for the studio.

Just like with XV, so long as they're putting out good content that's what the fans're looking for, I don't see any issues with it.

I assume that anyone who bought the game with Comrades will still have it, so I don't think that will change. It's not likely to suddenly stop getting support just because it can be sold separately.

That said, I'm pretty content with Comrades (and even managed to beat the Prompto/Ignis/Gladio in the side mission).

So anyone panicking should just chill.

?

Why would it stop receiving support after it becomes a standalone?

I'm not saying it is, but you're panicking LIKE it is. You bought the game on PC to try the Multiplayer, right?

Why else would you be upset if it suddenly became a separate game, then?

Random Nobody

Because I am cheap and even as the village *clown car noises and circus music* I would have preferred to buy Comrades separately at the (ostensibly) lower price point since the single player campaign made me so tired two years ago I haven't recovered (and probably won't touch it again).

So you're having buyer's remorse for a game you actually still play???

I guess some people really are skinflints with their money.

My advice to you is to enjoy the game for what it is and play it the way you WANT to play it.

Whenever DLC pops up, just ignore it until there's a flash sale or price drop.

Just think of FFXV as the gift that takes a while to stop giving.

....Yes.

But I don't play the FFXV singleplayer. I don't even own a console, so I haven't seen or touched it since 2016. Thus paying $50 for a product I could get for $20 - 30 is a Khaled Mohamed Khaled level of self-play that endangers my licence as a certified hater cheapskate.
