Surprised by the high view count of the DLC trailer, almost 600k views. That seems pretty unusual compared to other FF dlcs.

Rising Tide is really fun and went in some cooler directions than I expected. They've also made a tonnnnnnn of QoL updates to the main game. If you've somehow not played XVI yet then there's no better time to dive in.

Unfortunately, I felt exactly the opposite. It wasn't bad, but rather average, and I'm really disappointed. I really feel that they haven't learned anything from the "problems" of the base game. The side quests are poorly designed. The story is okay, but it's sorely lacking in party involvement. Jill got robbed AGAIN (I'm really pissed).
The location is beautiful. Exploration isn't very interesting (very narrow and linear) but I love the landscapes. The new gameplay additions are really cool.
If you weren't thrilled with FFXVI OG, this won't change your mind. If you liked it, I think it's more or less the same, so you should enjoy it I guess.
Not the goodbye to FFXVI I was expecting...

I wonder if the interest is enough to justify more content?
This number means nothing sadly. % increase is worthless when we don't know base numbers.
10 to 24 players is a 140% increase.
YoshiP seems to be determined to do something else now. So except the PC version, I think it's better to not have too much expectation with XVI.

Hmm. that was an interesting one.
I just assume by default that every new FF will have a twist about freeing people from fate by killing god now, so that went pretty much as expected.
The combat is... oddly unsatisfying? If you lose a fight it reloads the last checkpoint by refilling your potions, which I'm a bit hesitant about. I could see how this allows long fights without being too difficult, but it does kind of take away any sense of accomplishment when you do win. That said, without it I could see many fights being long and difficult, and very frustrating if you get killed just as you have the Eikon down to its last sliver of HP. I struggled a bit at the start, but once you get three Eikons it's fairly easy to keep up a constant stream of superattacks.
Nice to see Ifrit, normally the starter Summon, now being the ultimate weapon.
Titan was my favourite fight, narratively and mechanically. A lot of the time Clive doesn't feel in much danger, because Eikons are so powerful nothing can threaten them but another Eikon, and with Cid, Jill, and Joshua (although not all at once) at your side basically nothing feels dangerous. Titan is a rare 1v1 fight, and Hugo is very skilled and dangerous and absolutely not holding back. Odin is very powerful but has orders not to kill Clive, so even in missions where the objective is 'take on this whole army', most of the time I'm thinking 'eh, we probably can'
The party was nice, no real conflicts and nobody bothers to pretend there is for drama. Because party members come and go, they can't have quest commentary because the game doesn't know if they'll be there or not.
I liked a lot of the political games, Ultima and the bearer stuff less so.
