Game of Thrones

- Bran totally didn't need to control multiple crows/ravens (I won't bother trying to tell the difference). He only did it to show off. :monster:

- So what's the deal with the message Arya found in Petyr's room? Here is the visible text the way I interpret it:
... is dead, killed from wounds he took in a (bore hunt?) ...
... Joffrey and tried to steal his throne The Lannisters ...
...King's Landing and swear fealty to King Joffrey and...

Your faithful sister
Sansa
While the episode ended with Littlefinger seemingly outsmarting Arya, I hope Arya is merely pretending to be outsmarted and that she won't fall for whatever scheme Littlefinger has got going. I just feel that Arya has activated so much of a God-mode that it'd feel weird to see her drop from that position of invincibility.

So...who in this group are going to die in the next episode? Place your bets! You know what'd be one interesting way for #cleganebowl to happen? If the Hound dies in the north, becomes a wight and ends up being the undead that is taken to King's Landing!

That letter is the same one Sansa sent to Robb in season 2 when she was being held captive by the Lannister's. A cool callback I think, but I swear to god if they make unnecessary Stark sister sibling drama this late in the game I'll be pissed. :monster: I hope Littlefinger is offed next episode so we can move on from his constant scheming to gain control and get in Sansa's bed. :wacky: Feckin creeper.
But I really think that the two sisters will find a way to take him out and bond together.

Also, that's an interesting theory about the Hound, if he was killed and became a wight. O__o But I don't wanna see that happen. I want him to survive at least til the next season! He's one of my favorite characters. I also want him to see Arya and Sansa again before he possibly dies or the series ends. I would just love to see how they'd react to a reunion.

Arya hasn't seen that letter before and doesn't know that Sansa wrote it under duress. Next episode she will likely confront Sansa about it, claiming that she sold out their father to keep her chances of being queen alive (which she kinda, technically did, but as a stupid, naive child in very difficult circumstances). This will fit in with the narrative she's established in her mind about Sansa being hungry for power and plotting to take over from Jon. This will create further tension between the sisters for a while, with Littlefinger hoping that Sansa will turn to him for advice in lieu of being able to trust Arya.

If Arya knew Baelish better she'd probably know she was being played, or at least go to Sansa and ask why he was trying to hide the only copy of that scroll. I don't see Baelish being killed off in the next couple of episodes myself, since the show is marching headlong towards the ending everyone wants to see – the Lannisters being toppled by some combination of Dany and Jon – and Baelish needs to be there to keep an element of intrigue, namely the possibility that he will end up winning the Game of Thrones after all. Which he might. I'm not allowing myself to believe we're going to get a happy ending and a small part of me will be disappointed if we do.

I know it's not going to be a happy ending. Bittersweet is what I've been thinking for a long time now. I'd hate for it to be a crapsack depressing ending also; I think some things will be good and some things will be bad. Everyone should feel some kind of heartache or something similar when the credits roll on the final episode.
I suppose having a really bad ending might break the norm as well, but I think GRRM himself said it'd be a bittersweet ending. Idk, the series is full of loss and triumphs after huge struggles where usually characters you love lose their lives.

I'm actually interested in which characters people think will survive to the end of the series. There's still a decent amount left but I'm sure some of them will be gone at the end of this season.

I'm sure Bran will say something and/or figure something out before it comes to anything drastic with the Stark sisters. Arya is being outsmated by Petyr right now,
even the writers have said it. And everyone's all praising her for what she's doing but I think she was a right dick to Sansa, and you can tell that her words did hurt Sansa's feelings. Sansa isn't power hungry; if she were she would have offered to give Winterfell first to Jon, then Bran. All she wants is to be included in the decision-making. She's not lustful for power, she just wants to feel valued by her remaining family. I hate to say it, but Arya is being a downright little twat right now.

Pssst, Flare, the note was written in Season 1, btw.

But here are it's contents, in case the rest of you haven't looked them up.

"Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark."

This is the scene where Rob says 'Joffrey puts my father in chains and now he wants his ass kissed?" scene.

It's going to be tense next episode, because the preview for it where Arya says 'Are you afraid? What are you afraid of? Is clearly meant for Sansa. There's also a shot of Sansa looking panicked closing the door to her room, probably to get away from her.

Seriously Arya. I know you're a badass (albeit a deeply traumatized one), but stop scaring the fuck out of your sister.

Yeah I do agree that Arya isn't being the smartest either. I was chatting with my mom about this just yesterday. :D
I think Arya is a bit right, in that Sansa might have a darker desire to be the leader (don't we all sometimes have dark thoughts?) but she clearly hasn't and still hasn't usurped Jon's leadership, even when he's thousands of miles away. Sansa is right, you can't just start beheading everyone there who disagrees with Jon's actions. Arya and Sansa both have grown a lot and have learned very different lessons, and this kind of shows their respective life paths right now in the way they're disagreeing with each other.
So, I think they're both being a bit stupid. Because of the Arya/Sansa glimpses in the next ep preview, I'm hoping that they find a way to resolve the disagreements that are mostly being spawned from Littlefinger's meddling.

I started seeing Star Wars spoilers after a week, maybe a week and a half tops. Because if you don't watch something immediately then fuck you.

(I still haven't seen Episodes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. Maybe someday.)

I've had to unfollow people on FB because of GoT spoilers. I don't want to see images of scenes late in the episode just days after it aired. I don't care how "someone dies but I didn't say who." I don't care I should have realised that scene was going to happen. I don't care it's already in the books. I don't care how it's just a TV show and how I should get over myself. It's a fucking spoiler, I don't want to see it, and I will do what I can to make sure I don't.

Sadly I've found that the only thing that works is to stop talking to people who can't seem to muster up that kind of respect.

Normally my bf wants to watch them on Monday, but if it were up to me I'd binge the whole thing in one or two seatings. So I don't have to be as careful now, except for this fucking leak thing going on. UNFOLLOW.

If I'm among this group of people you've had to unfollow, I won't apologize. I give warnings ahead of time before the season starts to unfollow me. I post reactions on my social media because I'm excited, and want to talk to my friends about it, because even though I watch the show with my husband, he doesn't reach the same level of enthusiasm I do. So I have to get my kicks from Facebook.

Simply put, it's their personal page. I try to have a modicum of respect by not immediately spelling out character names in capital letters and shit, but it's unfair to place the responsibility of censoring spoilers solely on others who get to watch the show before you do. If that sounds callous I apologize, I'm not trying to come across that way, but asking others to contain their excitement for the show by not posting things on THEIR page is not fair to them or others who want to talk about what just happened in the episode.

Also, apparently the script for S08E01 has leaked. Now YouTube is recommending videos that spoil the content of this leak by their very titles...again. >___<

When a series' popularity goes too far :monster:

They really should've waited for the books to be finished or something, at least. Oh well, RIP

I'm wondering why you bother watching the show at all if you're largely apathetic to the cast then. :monster:

Like I'm genuinely curious. I can't watch a movie or a show if I'm apathetic or indifferent to the cast, so I wonder what it is that you have invested in the show.
Iono. For the distraction, mostly. I already traded hours of my own (and only) human life watching what came before, and I am the village *clown car noises and circus music* and perpetual victim of the sunk cost fallacy.

Don't think I'm a mindless Dany lover, I acknowledge that her characterization has been less than the best, especially over the past few seasons, and like Joe said, have been relying on 'badass' moments to win the audience over again, but I do think that by the end of this season, and hopefully the last one, things with her character will be different. If the spoiler leaks I've read are to be believed...
I don't think you're a mindless anything. And to be fair, I don't think there was anyone who didn't find her deeply sympathetic at first, but after series and series of shenanigans I'm [Maxine Waters voice] reclaiming my time.
