Also even though this had technically already been announced last year, there had been no major updates/information until today. Tiger & Bunny season 2 is coming out in 2022!

Also I just remembered this funny bit of trivia, John Eric Bentley, Barret’s English voice actor in the Remake, was/is also the voice actor for the hero Fire Emblem (a non-binary character who would fit right in with the Honey Bee Inn staff) in the Tiger & Bunny English dub. Wrap your mind around that!
(Also bonus trivia Barret’s old English voice actor Beau Billingslea, was the English dub voice for Ben Jackson, one of Tiger’s employers/boss in the anime).

Anybody a fan of Slayers here? The 30th anniversary was a few days ago and I think I'm gonna rewatch it to kill some time.

You should! Especially of you like 90's cheese. I always site it as the show that managed to achieve the perfect balance between serious plot episodes and comedy slice of life filler. Admittedly, the first half of season 1 is a bit rough around the edges, but Slayers at its prime (season 2) cannot be beaten. Also all of the theme songs are amazing, as you apparently already know.I have like the whole soundtrack. The one caveat is that I haven't watched the show.

2020 July and October anime rumored to postpone due to low productivity. No official confirmation of course but I wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen, production takes a lot of time and planning and anything wrecking the flow can have a big domino effect.

I'm kinda enjoying Parasyte on Netflix. I mean it's got quite a bit of the annoying anime tropes and the theme tune is god awful but that's par for the course. I like the gore and stuff anyway, very Junji Ito, only 3 eps in so maybe I'll be slagging it off in a few days.

it's funny that this song randomly popped into my head the other day, specifically the part in the full version where the singer shouts at you to shut up as he screams about maslow's hierarchy of needs while one of the other band members keeps saying the word 'baby' a bunch
i might go rewatch that. i have one minor complaint about a way they adapted a scene from the comic but overall i remember enjoying it.

Don't know how many people here would give a shit, but the Slayers light novels are finally getting released in English again, courtesy of J-Novel Club. Originally Tokyo Pop had the liscense, but then they died a horrible (albeit, deserved) death back in the late 2000's.

Gankutsuou is one of my favorites. It's been years since I finished it, so I've probably forgotten enough to warrant a rewatch, but it's definitely a treat. It's an eclectic mix of a lot of different genres mixed into one, and sews it all together pretty greatly.

Back when used anime was easier to find, I would always find the later disks but never the first one. I mean, I could just pirate it, but that's no fun. It looks so pretty.
Gankutsuou is great! I've been meaning to rewatch it as it's been a loooong time since I saw it last. It's legit probably one of the best takes on The Count of Monte Cristo - it's cool how it obviously does its own thing while some of the core machinations of the second half of the book are still there (at least IIRC). There's some 3D CG that probably looks pretty dated, but the art style is really, really neat (provided you don't find the textures bothersome in motion).
I remember coming across the first couple disks in a video store (back in the late 2000s) and being taken aback by how expensive they were (new) - like $30 per disk (which was four episodes, I think).

There's less than usual this season for all the other shows either being pushed back or under underteminate hiatus, outside of sequels the current hot anime aroud is The God of High School, action junkies looking forward for their fix will be satisfied, the first episode was bangers (and so is the OP).
