SPOILERS Half a year later. What are your thoughts?

Yeah but then... since the Nibelheim incident, that's what she does. As I said, being able to make the most of the moment, isn't that happiness? Then, isn't that "being fine"? There's no difference in how she is depicted in say chapter 3 versus chapter 16. What is happiness? I'd say it's pretty much being able to function, not be sad, go forward, joke, smile, having hope for the future. This is Tifa when she jokes with Cloud about rebuilding the bar. In all honestly, I feel pretty miffed that people go "oh she's not fine" because that means that Tifa will never be fine nor be happy, even though the game shows us when she's happy.

I understand that the most because I do have something that makes me sad 100% of the time when I think about it. The thing is, I *live* so I put those thoughts aside and I'm a pretty happy person myself. And I do feel that Tifa functions roughly the same. She has things that make her 100% sad every time she thinks/will think about them. But she's able to put them aside to live and be happy. She choses her own way to happiness, which is to help and/or to fight. So I think it's a bit disingeneous to say that she's not fine. Because she's doing damn fine, indeed. Which doesn't mean that she won't have waves of sadness and depression, which CoT shows - and the game shows us the same too, when the plate falls. And the game shows us that just like what she does in CoT, she is able to be comforted and see hope.

“They took everything from us again” I suppose also ties into Sephiroth indirectly since it’s all leads back to Shinra (“Sephiroth, SOLDIERs, mako, Shinra...I’m sick of this”) but I guess what you want is something more directly targeted at Sephiroth.

I suppose another way to look at it is that her main motivation for going after Sephiroth is not so much him but more to watch over Cloud, but like many other things about Tifa, it takes time to learn that about her motivations. Maybe Sephiroth could’ve taunted Tifa a bit more directly?

Yeah, I mean something more specific to tie her to Sephiroth but without revealing too much would have helped her character at the end a little. But I don't think its a big deal, they did a great job with all of them overall. If anyone got a little short changed it was Barret.
