^ I'm not sure what Lightroom is either. Alls I Know is that it's on my computer and I *think* it's for editing photos?


I actually got paid (like, regular working hours) to do this for my coworker who left the company last week.

It was the best that I could do with about an hour of my time after getting home on Thursday night. Acrylics.

Had a chance to doodle this afternoon.

Why does the Moogle look so depressed?

Well that's Mosh from Alexandria castle. He lost his family during the war. THEN he migrated North to find a job at Mognet central. He worked with Mognet for nearly 30 years but airship traffic put them out of business. He also never set aside any retirement savings so he is having a very tough time getting by doing contractual data-entry jobs in his old age.

So I decided to doodle an elderly Moogle who has faced all the same types of trials that many regular people do. People look at Moogles and see these cute little handy sidekicks but they have entire lives outside of helping us. O_o I thought of Mosh because Alexandria was really terribly messed up after it was attacked by Bahamut and so many lives would have been turned upside down in the turmoil. Mosh included.

^I saw Mosh on DeviantArt a moment ago, and came straight here looking for an explanation.

I had a spiel written on how I love this kind of stuff, "dark beauty" "game so colourful yet" "adds soul" etc., (sentences that actually made sense and were connected coherently ), but I went back to DeviantArt for a second there, saw I had the tab open, and noticed the title is called "My Name is Mosh", which suddenly captured it all. Beautiful.

I had an idea the other day to do an "after years/lives of Moogles outside of FF" project and it was really fun to think about. Not sure if I'd ever find the time, as there are a LOT of Moogles.

It's kind of unfortunate for the Moogles (in a way) that they're so darn cute because that's their most defining feature.

That's a very cool idea. Do you mean just from FFIX? That would be brilliant. I mean, there's so much to go by with all the letters they distribute (or, at least, get the player to distribute ) - so many stories and relationships work with. Stories in visual art, or standalone writing, your idea has the making of a really interesting series.
And they are sooo cute! That's what it makes it so appealing. When they're happy, we're extra happy! And when they're down, we feel down too, and want nothing more than to be right with them, cheering them up and cheering them on

And I'd already thought your Mosh was a pretty cool and unique drawing, being a ragged looking moogle, but your backstory to him makes me really appreciate it and love it even more. Aww, poor Mosh.

Doodly Noodlies

So guys...one of my eyes is higher on my face than the other and I think it's causing me to have a lot of issues getting eyes straight when I draw faces. I've even tried using a ruler to keep the eyes even when I draw them but one always comes out higher than the other. Anyone else have this problem? :X
