I gotta feeling I'll be in Chapter 1 for awhile, I'm trying to do everything that I can.

Took awhile to get used to Yuffie, but she is becoming fun to play as. I do think having a Wrath Hound right away going back for random battles was a tad extreme IMO.

Kinda getting the hang of Fort Condor. Just beat Kyrie in a sudden death match.

Ramuh shot lightning bolts up my ass. Definitely going to try that a little later lol.

Yuffie's victory theme hum is adorable.

And I really regret drinking those beers last night. :sickmonster:

So pretty close to the start: Nayo, Polk, and Billy Bob (REALLY?!) and even Zhije are not the characters many suspected: Nellie, Finn and Al.

Do we have any word on these three missing characters? Will we ever see official designs for them?

I really hope to see who is above Nayo's crew before too long. And Zhije has some mystery around him as well. All in all, I really liked this group but was left super curious.

This download took FOREVER to finish.

But holy shit was it worth it. I'm getting goosebumps.

The frame rate and detail of Intermission is incredible. I am amazed, they definitely took advantage of the PS5. Makes me really curious to see how the rest of Part 1 looks now.

And just.. Yuffie is a beast. Holy shit, she moves so good. This is legit and I just started. :monster:

EDIT: Just met my first Sephiroth Copy. #11. That's the Sephiroth Copy from the OG that chills in Tifa's house in Nibelheim....

Guess he'll be making quite the trek once the Reunion starts in earnest :awesome:

I'm all about these minigames. Tetra Card Master? Fort Condor?

I'd collect and play the hell out of the FF trading card game if I had other players around.
Same with a Fort Condor mini battler if it was real. Commanding FF troops in battle from throughout the FF meta mythos? Sign me up. Make this, Square, and I'll buy! I loved these minigames in the game and happy they used Yuffie to introduce it (like 9 did with Vivi and the card game!).

Fort Condor looks decent and it gives us that long-awaited upgrade many of us have wanted to one of the most flawed minigames from the original. I would love watching full Fort Condor matches in Intermission...if not for the fact that the screeches from the birds hurt my ears so much I want to strangle those avian bases. Seriously, how did those shrill bird sounds pass through the testing phase? I simply. Can't. Stand it! Am I alone in this?

I am now the Grandmaster of Fort Condor on Normal! I am not looking forward to facing Chadley again on Hard when I get to that point.

EDIT: On that note, it would've been helpful had I spoken to the Flying Turtle guy first before going around and doing all the Fort Condor matches so I could've bought that Grandmaster board lol.

I'm still in chapter 1 because I'm just in awe at everything there is to do.

I have been pleasantly surprised by all the things to do here. Was able to beat Ramuh with Yuffie by herself. It's honestly nuts how strong she is. That was a kickass fight.

Didn't think I'd enjoy Fort Condor as much as I am, but here we are. That mini-game is fun. They really did a great job updating.

About to proceed with the story now but one thing caught my ear.

Who are the "old buddies" Sonon mentioned when talking to Nayo about why AVALANCHE decided to work with them? He mentions AVALANCHE chose to enlist their help so that Wutai wouldn't go back to working with their old buddies....

Who could that be?

I think the Sonon was referring to Barret’s splinter cell as Nayo’s “old buddies”, that Nayo wouldn’t want Sonon and Yuffie working with Barret and co. more extreme methods (which Sonon actually seems more attracted to).

The other dialogue between Sonon and Yuffie about Avalanche they have encountered before (in Wutai?), I think that’s referencing Elfe/Fuhito’s branch of Avalanche, since Yuffie says before the newer members like Nayo and co. she didn’t think could trust anyone from Avalanche.

I spotted this in the French run I watched:

"Wasn't there a girl from Wutai in that bar?" It's an NPC dialog I only spotted once, rather early IIRC. Are they talking about Tifa, since many of us always wonder if her mother was Wutaian, given her features? I thought it was an amusing detail, a nod from the devs to aknowledge that theory - will we ever see Tifa's mum?

Well, Tifa and Vincent kind of look similar since they were supposed to be siblings. But Tifa, especially in AC/C, definitely has very asian features to me. Then again they modeled her after her VA, so there's that. But it also shows that in their minds, she is more asian-looking than not. I think it's only after AC that these questions were wondered.

We also have Zhijie which is a Chinese name like Tseng and Zhijie is not Wutaian either. So yeah, those things don't seem to be good indicators.

I'm fairly disappointed with how limited the camera movement and focal length options are though. No aperture either, booo
I hope they can improve it for the next part.
