The advantage of running the section by consensus is that if anyone notices godmoding etc., they can report it. Additionally, allowing rules to be drawn up by consensus would mean that people would have as much time as needed to make the rules as foolproof as possible.It doesn't always work like this.
How can someone who has absolutely no experience in an RP indentify and bring a flaw in someone's post to attention?
For example, how would someone with no experience notice a power play or a godmod in a post? Discussion doesn't always bring to light these discrepencies, which ruin RP gameplay and enjoyment etc.
I suppose the disadvantage is that the process could conceivably be made rather bureaucratic, but it'd still streamline itself out as the people involved got more experienced.
