what the deuce?@Scott: I'd say that's the bare bones for an RPB, which I know is your specialty.
what the deuce? x2RPB < ORPG RLY.
L is master of the RPBs, Channy and I are pretty much adept in ORPGs :3.
iirc L, you were quite the RPBer.what the deuce?
what the deuce? x2
Tbh with rpb's you need a hell of alot more detail than that of urpg's and orpg's as the bios there are defined from the game creators own judgement on what is needed and what isn't.
That's the great unpredictability about any RP, the RPers. There are so many different levels of skill and passion. It depends who's rpbing tbh, me and tasha used to spend alot of time on scenery and the actual physical status of our characters before delving into actual attacks.
It's essentially the difference between a good battle and a bad one if you take the time to imagine the situation with simplistic things like breathing, grip on a weapon, the surrounding features (wind and such) as well as perspiration.
Sometimes Orpg's lack that as well since they are seemingly devoted to combat of npc's and the general achievement of set goals.
imho, stuff like 'abilities', 'weapons', or anything too much reminiscent of RPGs where one's equipment is important suck. In fact, this whole 'bio' thing could be abandoned altogether (in some public thread) and revealed in the RPs themselves, i.e. like they do in books and whatnot.
This doesn't work in RPs though, as you get some dickhead who does something along the lines of 'you can't do that I have my WIZARD ARMOUR ON' or 'oh btw I have the power to turn into a dragon now' or who thinks its cool to invent a new tragic element to his character's backstory with every post.imho, stuff like 'abilities', 'weapons', or anything too much reminiscent of RPGs where one's equipment is important suck.
