Less than a week to go until we all meet up, so excited! This time next week, we'll be getting ready to go to the actual event.

As for food, there are lots of places in the area from the train station to the hotel. I've been to the Nando's quite a few times since going down, which we could either eat in or take back to someone's hotel room aka Ami is obvs having a cheeky Nando's no matter when in Landantawn.

I also wouldn't mind trying Ed's Easy Diner either, as they have a gluten free menu (I have to plan my whole life around food obvs xD) and I wouldn't feel left out.

So, are there any solid plans as of yet?

I'm happy with majority rule but I want to get my bit in and say I'd rather avoid Nando's if possible. You pay too much money for what is essentially a bit of chicken and some powder. And piri piri sauce.

I need to give this quote some love, Nando's is shite and massively overrated and I find the notion of going to a bona fide restaurant, then having to queue for food offensive. That's not a fucking restuarant, it's a canteen or a fucking carvery. If I'm paying service charges I want my fucking food brought to the fucking table. Rant over.

Sorry, I'm sleeping less than usual and feel like I'm married to my sewing machine now. Bastard thing refuses to commit though!

So actually, I was basically very, like, aware of using the words when I said them basically, so actually, from my perspective, no u.

(so, "perspective" is on there because basically the big cheese whose english is terrible likes to actually abuse the word a lot; "from a technology perspective", "from a customer perspective", "from a fedex perspective", etc. Tallied that one too one time, I think it was basically like 25 instances in a ten minute speech)

Sooo did you guys have options of special offers? Which one did you pick? I don't see why I should £88 per night when I can pay £81.50, or £88 with a free meal... not sure how this works in the UK, if you buy a special offer, do you HAVE to use the extra services provided? cba to read the terms... it's probably something like "sure you get free stuff but you get a shittier room"?

The rooms don't look great, but I've stayed in worse. The Rest Up Hostel in the Elephant and Castle was the worst place I have ever stayed, bar none. What's the betting the "free WiFi" doesn't work?

That last deal Fangu posted wasn't available a few weeks ago, I would've gone for that because the parking is free and it's exorbitantly expensive otherwise (and now I'm going down on the train dammit, at least it circumnavigates the congestion charges).

I'm warming up my 'complaints to the manager' voice just in case the hotel is a dive.

+44 is the first 0 in the mobile number. If you're adding non-Brits, just leave their number as it is (made a very expensive mistake with that once, lol).

I'll add all the numbers to my contacts at some point. Probably 4am Friday morning when I'm still up sewing.

All mobile phones accept the + character these days, but if you don't want to use it, you just have to replace it with your country's international access code, which is 00 for the UK.

This is hurting my brain. But if you're gonna be in the UK does it still need the access code? I just tried to text you using + instead but it wouldn't send :/

EDIT: Actually that might be because you're currently in Finland right? I don't think I get international texts free.

Just put in the +, or replace it with 00, like mentioned. So for me it's +47 or 0047. See also https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_call_prefixes
