While I haven't seen Jumper, I agree with what you're saying. In almost every medium, movies, theater, music (and not so much video games yet, actually, but getting there), critics usually seem to be far more concerned with how witty their remarks can be rather than offering any substantial information about what they're reviewing.

I'm intrigued by Valkyrie, and was supposed to see it last week but never got around to it. Anyone scene it? It could be good, though I find it funny that the gun in the preview is a British gun from 20 years after WWII :)

A few of my mates saw it and said the plot kicked ass and the dialogue was great. They just advised not to go in expecting to see alot of action but other wise is a great movie ^^

Last film I saw was Twilight. Crap really unless you like the books (never read 'em and can't say I'll be reading them anytime soon.)

The Dark Knight . . . I saw that ages ago. It was a kick-ass movie, beautifully dark landscapes, pretty funny dialogue, and superb acting by Heath Ledger (may he rest in peace :() and Gary Oldman.

When Christian Bale donned the Batsuit for some reason his voice became way too gravelly and low-pitched--he sounded like he'd swallowed sandpaper. I think they were trying to make him sound more sinister and intimidating but I personally found it distracting.

Otherwise than that Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, and Eckhardt (can't remember his first name, lyk srsly) did an amazing job. Definitely was one of the coolest movies for me last year.

Now I just need to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Doubt and I will be goooooood.

When hes batman hes supposed to be fear incarnate.
His main tactic is to scare his enemies and cause them to think irrationally.
Your not going to be scared of someone talking normal.

It was annoying, I must admit. But it's probably also to do with the secret identity thingy, people'd recognize his voice and whatnot, :monster:.

Cookie Monster

NOM NOM NOM
The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

Second best film of 2008, behind The Dark Knight, imho. The acting was spot on, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were amazing. And, it had a very intriguing story.

Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was brilliant, easily one of the best films of 08.

I liked The Dark Knight overall but I don't think it was quite as good as everyone was hyping it to be.

Yeah but did it have to sound that annoying. A deep voice without the blocked nose sound would have been sufficient enough.

I haven't seen it, but Travers and Ebert liked it, and Vonnegut loved the novel, so I'll probably go see it (and read the book eventually, but I have too many other books I've already purchased and not read yet to make it a priority).

I haven't watched a film in several weeks. I have been watching old episodes of Arrested Development and Lost, however.

Memoirs of a Geisha - Actually didn't think it was that bad, good viewing if you've got nothing better to watch.

Definitely the other people, but I thought Gyllenhaal was very average and her performance was so-so. Probably cause she didn't have much to work with, considering Rachel is such a lame character, but everybody else was bloody amazing!

I guess that`s also why her performance stood out (for the wrong reasons).

Aw Rachel's character was very forgettable, she had that whole damsel-in-distress steretype glued to her and I just hated that. Can we please get a tough girl who isn't afraid to kick one of Batman's adversaries in the balls, especially if she's created solely for the film franchise.

But yeah everyone else was just brilliant. :D The whole darker tones to the film really paid homage to the original comic series.

9/10
Great movie, comparable to Forrest Gump.
The best part in the movie was:
Did I ever tell you I was struck by lightning 7 times

Finally saw Revolutionary Road. Great movie, fucking depressing though.

I officially love Leonardo DiCaprio. Come to think of it he's not really a mainstream actor, except for Titanic.
