You know, it suddenly occurs to me that I never really commented on my favorite part of this trailer. Its the body language. One of my favorite things about the best Godzilla suit actors was the way they emoted through that big heavy pile of shaped foam and shit. Combined with the animatronics in the face (when applicable, best seen in the Heisei films) and the operation of the tail, it really brought the big guy to life. I've always enjoyed watching Godzilla move and react on screen and translating his body language into English, sometimes out loud even. And when he rises up from the city skyline at the Muto's approach in that trailer? I can all but hear him in my head. "Oh, there you are. I been waitin' here for ya, bitch. Come get me."

A buddy of mine got advance screening tickets to see it on Monday, so I'm just a TINY bit jealous, but I'm gonna keep myself as calm as possible this week, and isolate away from as much of anything as I can until I see it, and then - if I haven't spontaneously combusted - I'll come gush about it in this thread.

Bless you so much. I was just at the new Spidey film and there were so. Many! kids under five. Constant chatter, shushing and parents who finally gave up trying to shush.

Really, I get that the ones who can't talk yet are going to make some noise, and maybe you got to bring them for whatever reason, but the ones who can understand you -- teach them not to talk at the movies. Or don't feed them anything with sugar in it before you bring them. Or both.

I have the day off work to go see it Friday in 3D. Because, I, who get migraines, can watch 3D, while my friends, who don't get migraines, get migraines from watching 3D. Curious.

Am I excited? Possibly.

My buddy who is a HUGE Godzilla fan just got out of a press screening that he won tickets to. The short version of his non-spoiler review that he gave to me is that he's basically speechless with sheer overwhelming tears of joy. This is now without question his favourite Godzilla film, as well as his favourite version of Godzilla. Ever.

Holy shit, I am so goddamn excited for Thursday night.
