It don't matter now, I mean in terms of Legendary's continuity, Ghidohra is still out there and waiting to meet his greatest adversary. I'm sure the writers now can actually make King/Keiser Ghidohra much more menacing, they sure as hell did it with Godzilla himself. But frankly, I'm hoping they use Keiser version as he's much bigger, 4 legged and starts off as on the level with Godzilla as Monster X. If they wanna go by an alien invasion or a pacific rim-like scenario where there's an invasion underneath the ocean, Ghidohra is the best final boss to show as he's also gonna be great to be alluded to before the showdown. Show godzilla as an anti-hero, beat up his warm up boss ala Batman Begins and then show his greatest enemy ala The Dark Knight.

Totally agreed on Ghidorah being Godzilla's arch-nemesis and all, but just wanna point out the list of options left out Mecha-Godzilla. Mecha-G deserves a high spot on the list.

Yeah I agree sorta, King/Keizer Ghidorah is more of Godzilla's arch-nemesis in terms of another individual evil monster (even if he is often controlled by aliens), while Mechagodzilla is Godzilla's best known Mecha enemy (and is often a proxy for a humanoid enemy, usually humanity). Although Mothra has technically appeared (in a non stock footage/flashback way) in more Godzilla films than Ghidorah has, so she also has claim to being his arch-nemesis, but she also sometimes his ally as well.

I've been wondering why they made Godzilla a fighter for justice later? The documentaries said its because of Gamera? they wanna compete or somewhat?

I think that his role as a somewhat makes his role ambiguous and he's always against humanity when they're fucking things up, but he's against other kaiju from fucking things up. He basically only stomps powerplants and other stuff.

(Also when the kaiju vs. kaiju films rolled around it's easier to make your title character the hero).

Aside from that, he was totally role reversed in GMK.
