Issue 1: It is, beat for beat, exactly the same as the end of the OG. Dajh/Serah back, god destroyed, old world destroyed but convenient new one nearby where humanity can finally carve out their fate on their own terms. I seem to remember a quote about the sequels being about giving Lightning a happy ending, but they gave her exactly the same ending she already had...so...
Issue 2: Motivations based solely on single people: In the OG, Light and Snow cared about "SERAH!", but, y'know, saving/destroying Cocoon was also kinda important. But here, everyone has one single motivation, saving the world is basically secondary to everybody except Vanille (and that's more about her own residual guilt than what happened before than because saving souls is a good thing in itself.) and Snow (because he has his priorities straight, not that losing "SERAH!" hasn't left its scars.)
Noel: Yeul! No!
Caius: Other Yeuls! No!
Sazh: Dajh! No!
Lightning: Serah! No!
Fang: Vanille! No! (I'll give them this one, that was always her thing)
Issue 3: If nobody remembers you, you don't get an afterlife? I just dislike this cosmology on principle, because people are more than other people's memories of them. That point is kind of made in game, but then the cosmology kind of contradicts it. You don't get to hear someone else's internal monologue, no matter how well you know them, your perception of somebody else is not necessarily a true one.. Also, hermits get no afterlife? That's not very fair. Am I misunderstanding this?
