I fail to see how so much argument can surround a fictional relationship that had in no way whatsoever anything to do with the main plotline other than one got stabbed in the chest and the other could kill a man with her chest.
Seriously guys life is far too short to argue inate heresay arguments about fan-fictions claiming this and SE maybe once said they liked one better than the other.

But when he wakes up--even knowing that she's in danger--he refuses to go. Afraid he might try and kill her again...which incidentally, he does. But, no, he was not OBSESSED with getting to her. A far cry from it. He didn't even offer the others up. "You guys go." Nope, just "Nuh-uh, don'wanna...**pout**".

Am I misremembering...doesn't Aerith confront Sephiroth before she is aware that she can pull individual consciousness up from the Lifestream? **is confused** I guess I'll have to reread it, but I kind of thought she believed it to be one on one and then realizes Sephy made clones from consciousness and was like... "wait a minute...."

It doesn`t matter whether she is aware she can do that. She would have had no chance against Sephiroth, even with her "godlike" Cetra powers. Calling a "mere spirit" like Zack`s by her side would be more than irresponsible. Having him by her side in this case, would be a stupid and also a "bad" thing to do. This is rather the opposite to the other case.
It`s not the same like when she was living and the Team actually had a chance beating Sephiroth.

well idk you were one of the people arguing Aerith should have realized that she was going to be killed by Sephiroth and thus brough half the part with her and yet also arguing she couldn't have known because she's not a martyr. Which are both quite contradictory. If not, you know...

Aerith made a mistake and she didn't realize what was going on until too late. She thought she could handle herself because evidently she left Gongaga and traveled by herself to the Forgotten City and can turn herself invincible in battle. It's not like it was a horrible decision if she hadn't considered that Sephiroth was there.

Also the idea that Cloud couldn't have even been attracted or like Aerith because his nutsack drips sweat for Tifa is imo rong but whatever.
