Lol, sufficiently exhausted colors and gemstones have they? :P

After all the cool stuff that happened in generation five I wonder what they are going to do in generation six.I also wonder about the new villain team this generation.I wonder if the leader of the villain team will be as evil as Ghetsis was.I also noticed that the games go out all internationally on the same day.I think that has never happened before I wonder why they are doing it for this generation.

Not sure how I feel about the 3D look. Maybe it's due to nostalgia, and I realize that Pokemon as a series has changed very little over the years, but the 2D graphics and sprites have always had a certain charm, IMO.

But whatever, that fire starter is super adorable - fennec foxes are one of my favorite animals :monster: .

Yeah,I remember my first Pokemon game was actually Pokemon Gold.I got a gamboy color when I turned nine and I have been in love with the franchise since. The funny thing is I watched the show before ever getting a gamboy color. Now here I am twenty years old and still hooked.I think that Nintendo has been lately these past generations trying to appeal to the older audience as well.Probably because many in the older audience have been playing since they were in elementary school.

Speaking of which does anyone find it interesting that the grass starter is a mammal this time instead of a reptile like past generations.

watch the trailer but.... i have to admit, actually i don't like it so much. just put apart the new pokemons' design (which I really dislike) and the X/Y name (ok, X/Y/Z for 3 dimension) but i don't like the 100% 3D graphic in the game (ok, it's for 3DS, but still..). pokemon was my first videogame, i grew up with pokemon (i played blue, gold, sapphire, green leaf, diamond/pearl/platinum, white and now i'm playing black 2) and i really like it(white was very good), but the new design, the 100% 3D graphic, the X/Y name.. i don't like it.
also, it's a very bad 3D graphic.
i'm happy i don't have a 3DS, because actually i don't think i'll play it.

PS: i bet that the main character talk in this pokemon :monster:

Kinda meh on the new starters, but the fire starter is pretty cute. Gonna wait till they show their evolutionary line though.

Also, as much as I like the character models and the new world map look, I really miss the sprites look. :<

Yeah, its like the sprite look will be history now. However, from the looks of things this will probably give us more reasltic graphics and backgrounds.

I LOVE FENNEKIN..............

I have been surfing the net and found some fanart of Fennekin already.I have a feeling that eventually some artists will make rule 34 art.Yeah,it already seems like a popular pokemon that has been recently announced.

Does anyone else notice that this region looks like its based on France.I mean in the trailer they have a structure that is simliar to the Effial Tower.

The battles look really good - in fact, it made me realise how much better the earlier DS games could have looked - but the field exploration seemed a bit weird. I guess it will take some getting used to. Still, glad to see the series making a big change; I think it has changed far too little over the years, which is why it never holds my interest any more.

Yeah,in my opinion these days Pokemon seems to attract loyal fans that have played earlier generations of the franchise. Then again Pokemon could be considered the gateway series into RPG and Mon genre games. But I am glad they are changing things up a bit and I have a feeling older fans of the sprites will be very dissapointed that the game won't have them anymore.

Good day pokemon fans because I have heard recently that in October Nitendo is going to release their first pokemon games for the 3DS.So,for all you pokemon fans keep your calendars marked for October this year.:joy:

P.S.Lets hope this time the fire starter isn't also part fighting type.

3DS? Damn, now I actually have to get one of those. That kinda sucks. Also, October? Good lord, give people time to fully enjoy Black and White 2 would ya? I just got my heavy hitters and elite team members moved again.

Lol, sufficiently exhausted colors and gemstones have they? :P

Gold, Silver, and Platnium were precious metals :P

The 2D graphics for Pokemon were, as of Gen V, pretty much perfect. The animations looked cool, everything was properly detailed. If we ditch 2D sprites forever how am I supposed to make sigs for people using the new Pokemon?

But whatever, that fire starter is super adorable - fennec foxes are one of my favorite animals :monster: .

Eevee. Flareon. Its been done already, admittedly not as a starter.

Yeah, its like the sprite look will be history now.

:(

However, from the looks of things this will probably give us more reasltic graphics and backgrounds.

Backgrounds are one thing, those have steadily gotten more detailed and realistic since Gen I up to the present. But do we really want the Pokemon to look more realistic? Last I knew a particular horror meme revolved around making realistic Pokemon images and seeing how completely fucked up they looked that way.

For a Gym Leader, I gotta say I am not as excited as I should be. Its like the opposite of when Black 2 came out, and I thought it looked awesome despite lacking any new Pokemon at all.

I hope finally this generation that they actually have a dark type gym leader.

I think GLD is having an identity crisis :awesome:. If they don't come out with sprites of these new pokemon, perhaps you could make them up? I bet someone else will. I don't think it would be too hard. Even though it is all 3D now, I think the stylisation is still the same.

So,which starter do you prefer.I was thinking that maybe I could get the fire or grass starter. It would also depend on what the gyms will be like.

I'm not good enough to hand-build traditional sprites personally, but yeah hopefully someone will. Depending on the angle viewed from, some of the still images I've seen of the battle screen pretty closely resemble sprites anyway. Here's hoping.

Much as I dislike the look of the little bugger, I always take Fire the first time through a region. Always. As you said, here's hoping it isn't Fighting this time. It was awesome the first time (and the second tbh) but three in a row was too many. Still wish it had been something other than a fox. I'm really not liking the starters so far. Fennec fox, frog, and... the hell is that grass starter supposed to be anyway? Here's hoping that give them badass evolutions, and dual-types that shake up the rivalry system like Gen IV had.

I think the grass starter is a hedgehog or ground squirrel.

About the fox fire type I think if you know anything about French culture it could be a reference to Reynard the Fox.He is a well known trickster figure in Europe especially France and Engalnd.

Clicky guessed ground squirrel too. I really don't know what the hell it is. And yes, I'm aware of Reynard the fox (albeit I am more familiar with tricksters like Coyote). And I'm not opposed to having more Pokemon based on foxes. I don't know what bothers me so much about this one, aside from "We already have Flareon and Vulpix/Ninetales covering the firey-fox front!"

I'll just have to be patient and see what else the new region's Pokedex contains/what their evolutions look like. I wasn't exactly thrilled by the Gen V starters at first either, and they turned out more or less ok (Emboar is the worst Fire-starter ever though).

The starters of the new game are said to be Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting meaning that one is more dominant that the other.
founded on fb. if it's true, i know what GLD will chose :trainermon:
