Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday

Of course, IGN then gives it an 8.5

IGN puzzles me, they always score the exact opposite of what I expect. Its rare that I even go there, but I can't help but wonder if their bewildering scores are some sort of scheme to get me to come back out of sheer curiosity.
It seems that none of the review sites can actually make up their mind. Their scores go from 5/10 to 8/10. Although I think the most reviews fluctuate around high 6's to low 7's.

Still disappointing considering the name it's carrying. You'd think that they'd try harder with something like Parasite Eve.

It just might be that they just aren't any good with shooting games. But I also think they need to stop fucking giving Toriyama writing roles. Please and thank you.

Well completed it on Easy Mode, I don't expect to put it back in my PSP again any time soon. It's not bad. The jumping from body to body is an original enough gimmick. But everything about how they treat it is just so nonsensical. You keep three out of four guns as you jump from body to body, you not only appear as Aya but you get clothing damage as well, that you maintain from body to body including even when you get back to your real body at HQ. I can accept that the dialogue towards the end is gonna be written as though the writer was baked out of their minds, that's the kind of the game this was always gonna be. But right from the bat Cray, Gabriella and Kyle will never have a realistic line between the three of them (Maeda too but I can accept that that's suppose to be his character), you cannot take them serious as characters. They look realistic enough though. Other then Kyle Madigen wearing a longcoat to his ****ing wedding that is.

Also, I gotta lol at the credits. A good two-thirds of the people that developed this game had character design in their job description (and everyone's hands still look San Andreas-tier ****).
