I agree, the bandana being up so high makes the forehead look like it's big.

Still, I like the color work. Very nice and smooth texture, save for the hair, which wouldn't truly have that.

Another observation is the nose - I could be the one who's off, but to me it looks like Vincent's head is tilted a bit, yet the nose goes straight down.

I agree, still a very good picture! :)

I forgot to move her mouth over, after all. e.e Whoops. It's also way too light.. But there are parts I like. Like the back of her neck. STOP JUDGING ME. >< It's only supposed to be a "speed" painting, anyway...

I see the art, Ravynne; so far, all I've seen is improvement. Keep up the good job. As for actually reading the content - I do not read it steadily, no. I hope and try to support you in your efforts; I know you wish to be a better artist, and I try to encourage you all that I can. :^^:

Well I think you're the only one, so I don't know why I bother posting here at all. Maybe what I have to do is offer to draw other people and then they'll enjoy looking at themselves. Maybe everyone hates Vincent and Lucrecia. I dunno.

I know it sucks when people will not and/or cannot give you any written/typed (online) communication as to how you are doing - even if they say 'I like this!' Honestly, it's like pulling teeth!

The only thing with me is that - I'm not always astutely aware as to 'problems' in a picture or a written piece. I will see it/read it, and sometimes errors jump out at me, while other times, despite errors, my fascination with another detail of the work blinds me to those problems. As well, I do not know exactly what to look for, and critiquing is not easy for me.

Looking at the sketches, I think the one thing you need to keep in mind and watch out for is the 'anti-gravity hair'... Now, that's how it is in the story! I know. Just sometimes it can get carried away. For the most part, I like your sketches. I think you've got a good sketching system there. Anatomy seems to not be much of a problem (like us all, some more than others, proportions).

Some of the facial expressions Lucreacia's wearing on the last two artworks (dated 4/5 and 4/6, respectively, I believe - bottom right hand corner of the scan) are really cute. :^^:

The anatomy is horrid on most of those sketches because I lost my eraser, lulz. (And, now that I think of it, I forgot to buy a new pencil when I was at CVS earlier. Damn it. >< ) So all lines that fell there kinda had to stay there. The sketches are more about concept.

Not sure if I see the anti-gravity issue in any of those, actually. I see it in this on Vincent's hair. But Lucrecia's bangs just...do that. And Vincent's little bit of hair that sticks out on the right. Though I suppose the bangs on his face could be more subject to gravity in the one where he's lying down.

I am happy with Lucrecia in that bottom right one but I really have no idea how to position Sephiroth in a way that doesn't look sexual, lolz.

Oh I'm actually really liking the this last pic you posted. The coloring you've done so far looks fantastic, and I'm really liking the style. It seems different than your previous pics. More realistic.

And it's a more interesting angle. :)

WIP thing. It's just enough to give you an idea of what I'm working on. Poorly proportioned sketch is poorly proportioned. Also, I fucking hate perspective, and I have no idea why I chose THIS SCENERY of all places.

Yeah, it definitely the worst thing an artist has to deal with. You seem to have handled it well in that image though. You might want to try lowering the horizon line a bit to try and line things up a bit.

I agree with Dacon. Lower the horizon line in the lat pic and it may all pan out.

Also that mother's day pic is GORGEOUS! And I especially love the flowers. <3

Ugh, if I make changes to it now I will stab myself in the eye with my tablet pen. But it should be noted that he's not meant to be standing on that floor. He's on a slightly raised observation platform, looking through a glass window into that room. That's why the horizon is higher. He's standing up higher. Hopefully when the glass window is there it will be more obvious. But I'm glad you both seem to like it otherwise.

Of course, now that I look at the actual location in Crisis Core I realize that's not actually the case and he should be level with it, but...that's not what I had in mind when I drew it, anyway. ><

Glad you like the Mother's Day pic. :D I didn't do the line art of the flowers myself, but if you read my artist's comments on DA you can see how I got the line art from actual photographs of flowers. Another WIP of that one I'm working on. I'm pretty much done with the perspective issues now. It's wrong in a lot of places, but hopefully it isn't too obvious and/or I can mask it with color/shading. :monster:

Anyway, does the horizon issue look better with the window frame in there or does it still look wrong?
