Yeah, they do, which is odd because the lines are in the same place. I think I drew in more strands of her bangs though, which might be making the right eye seem like it's more to the right than it actually is.
I was trying to be quick about it, though. Let me know if you spot anything that should be fixed in the WIPs of Hojo looking into the SOLDIER room or Turk!Vincent on the ground with his gun, because I'm taking my time with those and want to get them right. That goes for anyone.
I'm also inking the last sketch in that sketchdump post, the one of Vin & Lu dancing, but I'll post the line art of that for review wicba. My priorities are the Hojo & Seph pic, and then Lucrecia's website. Oh and homework, lulz.
Oh and here's the most recent version of the T!Vin pic, though it's been on hold since April while I take care of those other things. I will resume it when I'm done with the other priorities, though:
Funny, I was so proud of how it was coming along just over a month ago, and now I look at it and all I see are mistakes. =(
Then I've done a good job of hiding it, lulz. I didn't actually move it at all. I just wanted to know if the coloring and the inclusion of the window made a difference in your opinion. And apparently it has so hurrah and such.
Hey in the one where Hojo is watching Seph fight the grunts, on DA you said there was something wrong with it but I had no idea what that was. Were you talking about the horizon line? It doesn't seem to be an issue now that the piece is finished.
Nope. xD Actually it was that his glasses should be visible over his ears. He's clearly wearing glasses in the reflection, but they're not on him. D: Because I forgot.
Glad it stumped you, lol. Maybe we'll be the only ones who notice now.
The Hojo/training room one:
I didn't follow the development of it, but I think it turned out well. I like the look of the reflection in the glass, and the whole perspective thing looks pretty solid.
If I had to make a criticism, the ledge of the window looks a bit flat. Although perhaps I'm just seeing it wrong and that's a border/frame around the glass?
It is a border/frame but I do still agree that it looks flat. It only protrudes from the wall slightly, but there should probably be more thickness along the z axis extending into the room.
In Crisis Core the entire wall is actually all glass so I really made that up, but the idea of there being a window there was kind of crucial to the composition of the image and it wasn't until I had the idea and sketched Hojo at work that I went home, opened up CC, and realized there was no "window" at all. Still, I'm not sure I shaded it right.
Some fanservice posted to my DA account in honor of hitting 10k pageviews. It was also some much needed practice with drawing a guy's chest. Shitty coloring job done in SAI.
Yeah the wall was really rushed, because I was working with an expired trial version of SAI and wasn't allowed to save, and I just wanted to go to bed at that point. So I had to finish, print screen, and save it in Photoshop as one layer.
I have that problem. D: It's really bad in this one, too, especially on Sephiroth: http://ravynnenevyrmore.deviantart.com/art/A-Mother-s-Love-121909828
I dunno, I just never notice until it's colored, more so lately than ever before. Maybe it was a problem before but it just got lost in a mess of other problems, lol. It's definitely something I've been trying to work on, but for some reason it's so difficult for me to visualize where eyes should be, their shape, etc. I can see it when it's done, but it's too late by then. I need to get into the habit of flipping the image when I'm drawing it.
Sketch dumps from June and July:
The numbers indicate captions that I provided on DA, but hell, I think it would just be more fun to leave you in the dark and wondering wtf I was trying to draw.
These are just very rough doodles from the notepad I keep in my purse. Sometimes they get resketched digitally and used for drawings, but mostly they're just practice.
Found some old sketches (circa October 2006) in my desk drawer and decided to post them next to recent ones for great lulz.
It's nice to see how much I've improved and all, but I want to cry when I look at how I drew only 3 years ago! I was already 21! That looks like the work of a 15 year old. D:
