Have to assume another user with a dev or testkit. Or at the very least the sites/forums I've been monitoring haven't made any mention of a decrypted PKG. I remember it was really fast going with CFW on the PSP, but I can't say I've been big on the PS4 CFW scene (I don't even have a PS4:mon:), but from what I've read there's yet to be a CFW beyond 5.05 and those can't run the demo and can't make a decrypted PKG for other users.

But....
PS4 hack stuff is still a bit of a small circle in some ways. There is a small group of people who have the kernel exploits for the latest firmware. At least, that is my understanding.

Huh, that "full" demo video is just the previous two videos stitched together, it's missing the "part 2" content.

Also interesting that
they decide to explain why the Reactor #1 explosion is bigger than what Jessie originally anticipated like in the OG

So instead of it being a miscalculation on Jessie's part, President Shinra actively makes the explosion/attack worse than it would have been by itself.

Yeah I should've double-checked before I edited that in...:fail:

Agreed, it was an interesting twist (though I've see some comments on YT saying it was dumb, not to mention a thread on /v/ raging about how it's been "censored" by
having Avalanche not be truly responsible for the deaths caused by the massive explosion
). Not to mention that
explosion
sequence was amazing!

Significant change of lighting in the Heidegger/President Shinra scene in the demo (right image) compared to E3 2019 (left image). I particularly like the addition of the metropolis through the window:

Also, Jessie's hair seems to've been changed/shortened considerably (State of Play, May 2019 left image/Demo right image):

I see echoes of the Fukushima Daiichi explosion with the destruction of Mako Reactor 1. Write/Show what ya know, and thats the closest real world analog that has footage....

Not exactly happy about Heidegger hurrying it along, but if they never find out, I guess the guilt later on still works, since it was sort of their intention for it to work that way anyway......

Well I had a dream that I played the demo but you could also use Biggs, Wedge, Jessie, Tifa and Aerith during the bombing mission and it was discovered that if you let the intro replay over and over sometimes when you started to play a secret demo would start up, I got Cloud and Aerith exploring, and I switched to maining Aerith in battle, she had moves mapped to circle, triangle and square, and her limit was breath of earth one except it also healed hp and mp as well as curing status effects now, enemies on the field kept sneaking up to join a battle and I was starting to get overwhelmed, and Cloud wasn't helping out, I was like where is he, why isn't he tanking, distracting, etc, when there was breathing space I (Aerith) walked around and in a corner there was a tiny stone Cloud statue, limit break for curing the status wasn't ready yet, there was an oh f*ck moment, then rummaged around for a Soft.

After the "demo" changed again and other forum members joined in playing somehow? People were maining Cloud and were concentrating and getting distracted by battle and were worried Aerith would wander off instead of staying close for healing, etc, I found and let everyone know about the "Stick close" AI setting. By this stage the demo had changed to being in the Shinra building but there were like "ghosts" holo imprints of events and people that had been there before, Ilfana was there and someone had Cloud run through her and you could hear a child Aerith go "Mama" and everyone was like wow that's really creepy. Finally I got caught by Shinra employees and was taken away for experiments, etc but eventually escaped and was trying to use spells like fire. Hojo was concerned about "power levels" etc and wanted to see if I would learn the seal evil limit since that was a good one.

What an experience, that was really something, so wild, since sometimes it was like me watching the dream like playing a game but other times it was lucid and kind of interactive like I was actually there and sometimes I was me in the dream but sometimes Aerith :pinkmonster:

So, I caved and watched parts of it, though not a whole lot - I didn't want to spoil it too much. What I saw was really good for the most part, though there was something that had me wondering.

When Cloud frees Jessie's leg, it never felt like she was in any real danger, at least to me. More that she was just slowed down but not necessarily threatened. Sure, the place was rumbling, but there wasn't anything in the immediate vicinity to bring an urgency to getting her out, and it seems the gang wasn't expecting the explosion to be very big based on how it originally went off before President Shinra enhanced it. I did like Jessie's line, though - "Do I look alright to you?" I just think SE could have made the moment more suspenseful and intense than funny, say by maybe having stuff falling around them or roboguards shooting at them or something. They had all this new technology and stuff to play with, and this was all they could come up with?

Plus, her little tumble on the catwalk also felt a bit underwhelming as well. I realize it's what happened in the original, but they could have made it more dynamic, maybe by letting the catwalk crumble under her instead of Cloud and have him catch her at the last moment and pull her up. She seemed more in danger when dodging bullets from the soldiers than in either of the times Cloud helped her out. According to what she says in the E3 trailer, he saves her life at some point, but it never felt during the demo (or what I saw of it) like he actually did that. Maybe she was referring to something that happens after the reactor, which is certainly possible. I don't think that materia showed up anywhere in the demo, did it? If not, then it could be that she finds it later and, thus, he saves her life at a different time (and hopefully in a more dramatic, suspenseful way).

Cloud saving Jessie’s life is not referring to that bit ...

edit: hold on maybe you are referring to the same bit I am. If so I think she was in a big enough pickle to require help, though maybe it could’ve been a little bit more drawn out.

Random thought: Maybe it was the wrong demo that was leaked. As in, maybe they didn't release it because it wasn't the build they wanted to show.

This is my first actual test. The whole demo, is too much for me to watch I think. I'd rather experience the demo when it releases. However, I did download the video in case the demo gets pulled or isn't releasing til, like, February lol. I'll still play the demo whether I watch the video or not.

They really need to release it.

I know there's a thread about this, but I don't want to post there in case anyone is on strict blackouts or whatever. Anyway,
the tutorial prompt that introduces his gameplay specifically states that "Holding down [ ] releases a sustained burst of automatic fire when equipping a ranged weapon." To me, this confirms that Barret also has access to melee weapons at some point, because otherwise they wouldn't specify that he needs to have a ranged weapon equipped. Let's go cannonball!

I wonder what they have to gain by withholding it from the rest of the PS4 CFW community then.

In any event, I really hope these glitches aren't part of the final game. I can't imagine Square would let these slip through on such an important title, and on the intro no less.

You're just seeing video compression. The game will run at 4k when it's released. That video is just 720p and depends on how good your internet bandwidth is at any given moment. It was fairly clear on mine, for what it's worth. I have fiber to the home, though.

I gave in and watched the entire demo.

I loved just about everything about it. The characters have a lot of personality, just like in the original. Voice acting is surprisingly well done. I honestly never believed we'd see voice acting as good as what we've seen. They really nailed what was probably the most critical aspect of the game. There are a few exaggerated/odd gasps to illustrate changes in mood, but other than that it was near perfect to me.. Barrett, Jesse and Cloud are all really, really well done.

I love their illustration of Aeris' vulnerability and inner conflict, as well as the tension between Barrett/Cloud and mutual attraction between Jesse/Cloud.

A remaining question I have is about the battle system and how it flows. I personally loved the original battle system and hope this one will flow just as well.

The soundtrack.. is perfect. Uematsu and crew did one hell of a job w/ this.

Also I noticed that, at least in the parts I watched, there were no dialogue options, no choices to make, and yet Nomura said the game would be full of them and that there would be many choices-dependent events and scenes. Maybe it's just because it's a demo, idk. But it would have been nice to have had a couple in it to be able to see how it works (being able to choose how to respond to Jessie on the ladder, for instance, instead of him automatically biting her head off, maybe being able to choose just how snarky Cloud is to Barret at certain times).

The data-mining continues. Start avoiding the usual places with no policies on spoilers if you wanted to go in dark. They now have (supposedly) access to weapons, abilities and mini-games. And the demo has been reverse-patched (I don't know the technical term) to allow playability on lower firmware jail-broken PS4s. It's all about to blow up even more.

That's not video compression, it's an actual glitch in the video. Happens in other uploads at the same spot as well, so it seems it's the actual FMV that has this rather than something that happened during the upload and/or YouTube compression.

Anyway, I did cave in and watched the intro yesterday but I'm not gonna watch the entire thing. I wanna stream/record first impressions of the demo playthrough sooooo gotta stay strong now :wacky:
I don't care if it's a holiday Nomura, push that emergency release button pls :kermit:
