The latest announcement is "Spider-Island," written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Paco Diaz. Also with backup stories featuring MC2's May "Mayday" Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Girl), as handled by her original creative team -- Tom Defalco (writer), Ron Frenz (penciler) and Sal Buscema (colorist).

This also confirms, for those who may have had lingering doubts, that the Mayday featured in "Spider-Verse" was, indeed, the MC2 version.

Oh, almost forgot about this: Yesterday's announcement was "Red Skull," a three-issue mini-series written by Joshua Williamson with art by Luca Pizzari.

Now, I'll proceed to completely forget about it. :monster:

With all the tie-ins I've been passing on, I was surprised to find that I'm actually on board for about a quarter of the books in this event -- 10 tie-ins, the main "Secret Wars" mini-series and continuing to get "Silver Surfer," which is sort of a tie-in as one of the "Last Days" titles.

Really don't know what to expect anymore from these announcements, though. My predictions for this week haven't amounted to shit.

We've got nine Domains on Battleworld with no clearly announced titles for them, three of them still labeled "Classified." The other six are the Eye of Agamotto, the Bar Sinister, the Valley of Flame, New Mars, Egyptia and the Monarchy of M.

That last one will obviously be the "House of M" title, and it's pretty obvious the Eye of Agamotto has something to do with Dr. Strange while the Valley of Flame involves Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur, Egyptia is based on that "New Warriors" storyline from the early 90s, New Mars will have something to do with Killraven and the Bar Sinister will be related to Mr. Sinister (since the Squadron Sinister ended up attached to Utopolis instead) -- but even with these things being "pretty obvious," we don't have books to attach to these places.

We may be able to deduce that one of the three classified Domains is from the MC2 world, book already announced in the form of the Spider-Girl backup stories featured in "Spider-Island" -- but that would then beg the question of why the Domain remains classified on the map.

And we're still left in the odd spot of having several books that aren't known to be attached to a specific Domain: "Secret Wars Journal," being an anthology title, could be anywhere, while we have no guesses whatsoever about the settings for "Star-Lord & Kitty Pryde," "Runaways," "Ghost Racers," "Thors," "X-Tinction Agenda" and "1872."

They're definitely going to end up with more books than Domains. I'm done making predictions at this point.

Meant to mention this the other day: At the end of April, Marvel will be releasing a free "newspaper" entitled "New York Bulletin" to get people caught up on the various corners of Marvel heading into "Secret Wars."

Why they didn't just go with "The Daily Bugle," I have no fucking clue, but whatever, it's free. Get it.

The last of the teasers from October is here: Dennis Hopeless and Kris Anka to do "House of M"

So, the question we're all thinking: Are the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver still Magneto's kids in this reality? :awesome:

This is going to be a pass from me. HoM sucked plenty enough the first time around. Granted, I'd trust Hopeless with it before Bendis. Kris Anka is an absolutely terrible choice, though. I just don't appreciate his style at all.

And I guess the other question we're all thinking is "How many of these fucking things are left?" XD

I liked the main House of M story but the side stuff blew. Especially Spider-Man. That was just like wtf?

Well, as we're more than a week (nine days, in fact) without any new book announcements, I guess "House of M" will be the sour note those end on. We did get this two-part interview yesterday and this morning, though (note: do not read this interview unless you've been following the developments in "Avengers" and "New Avengers," at least as far as finding out who Rabum Alal is):

Hickman Sets the Stage for His "Avengers" Finale & Marvel's "Secret Wars" - Part 1
Hickman Ends the "Avengers" and "New Avengers," Prepares for Battle in "Secret Wars" - Part 2

Two-page preview of "Secret Wars" #1. Should make a certain Cyclops fan we know happy.

I won't say reading the final issues of "New Avengers" and "Avengers" (#33 and #44) that came out this week is absolutely necessary, but it certainly couldn't hurt in establishing the situation for you. It looks like it will probably be self-evident within this comic, but the situation, for those who don't mind being spoiled on those other issues, is
when an alien armada (consisting of Shi'ar, Kree, Skrulls, Brood and the Negative Zone Annihilation Wave) led by Gladiator attacked Earth in an effort to destroy the planet and prevent the final interuniverse Incursion, Tony Stark fired up the weaponized partially constructed Dyson Sphere he had previously built, harnessed the Sun's energy and fired a beam that disintegrated the alien fleet -- apparently killing a number of longstanding characters, including Gladiator, the Shi'ar Imperial Guard and Annihilus.

Meanwhile, Dr. Doom, Dr. Strange and the Molecule Man confront the Beyonders, the beings from outside the multiverse who are responsible for the crises imperiling it. A group of most of the most powerful Avengers (Nightmask, Ex Nihilo, Abyss, Starbrand, Hyperion and Thor Odinson) had already took them on and died in the doing, barely putting a dent in the Beyonders' numbers.

Doom launches a weaponized time platform at the Beyonder army, hoping to exploit their linear nature as a weakness. It works. Maybe. It's a little unclear. There's an explosion that seemingly takes them out, but clearly with consequences Doom did not intend. The full scope of those consequences isn't immediately explained, but it does destroy most of the universes that had previously been saved from Incursions.

Finally, back on Earth, the final Incursion has begun -- and it's with Earth-1610, the Earth of the Ultimate Universe. Ultimate Reed Richards informs Ultimate Nick Fury of the situation, and his version of S.H.I.E.L.D. organizes and initiates an offensive against Earth-616. Meanwhile, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark from Earth-616 engage in a brutal fight with one another to settle things between them as their New York burns around them. The final issue of "Avengers" ends with a wrecked helicarrier from Earth-1610 seemingly crashing into Tony and Steve as they beat the shit out of each other.

Oh, and I'll finish getting that master list of "Secret Wars" titles ready this weekend.

Also, if there're scans for Secret Wars #0, I'd dig checking it out, since FCBD isn't a digital thing apparently, so I can't check out any of those sweet sweet comics.

So when exactly do all these Secret Wars titles begin, anyway? I want to switch my pull list to another store, but I don't want there to be an overlap or oversight. :/

"Secret Wars" #1 comes out next week. :monster:

You can always look up the next week's offerings at PreviewsWorld.com (click "Upcoming Releases" under "Release Info").

X: Get thee to a comic store! They will probably have extra supplies for a few days.

I haven't seen any scans anywhere, but you're honestly not missing a lot. It's just
Valeria Richards filling the Future Foundation in on what they've been building (the life raft reinforced with the skin of the Living Tribunal from "Time Runs Out") and why it's necessary (brief summary of the Incursion crisis and the fact that all other efforts except "trying not to lose" have failed).

It ends with the final Incursion starting and the heroes of Earth-616 charging toward the S.H.I.E.L.D. fleet from Earth-1610 in a double-page spread. The cool factor of this final shot is somewhat diminished by the illustrator's errors -- they draw O5 Angel with his feather wings rather than his post-"The Black Vortex" look, and Starbrand and Hyperion are included in the shot despite both having recently died in battle elsewhere in the multiverse.

I haven't opened the "All-New, All-Different Avengers" issue yet, but if it reveals anything I suspect you may need to know, I'll update you.
