$28.24, but how can someone with colorful notes call less colorful notes monopoly money? :monster: That's remarkably close to the actual exchange rate though, I'm surprised.

Anyway, that's super cool and all, but I wanna play Sonic on consooooooles.... *whine*

I'm mainly getting it for an opportunity to dip into Lost World. I had no idea that released outside of the Wii U. Also, generations and All Stars Racing Transformed in 60fps should be pretty cool.

That said, I bought it an hour ago and have been playing S3&K since then so I'm a filthy liar.

Ooooo also Adventure. Dammit they're all good XD.

I have Adventure and Adventure 2 on my PS3. And I've done enough grinding in Sonic Racing twice now to do it again. (But speaking of, we never played with each other like we were gonna! :O )

I have Lost World for my 3DS but I haven't gotten too far in it yet. And when it comes to S3&K, I'm sticking with my emulated or PS2 versions until they put it on PSN /petulant.

I mean... I own them all on Playstation too but I still bought them again XD

Because cheapness and 60fps

No really though, it'll make a difference in Generations. Also might be interesting to see if there are mods available? I'm going to comb through the discussions for a bit and see if there's anything interesting.

Bunch of Sonic games on sale this weekend on Steam. You can get the classic ones, as well as some of the newer incarnations. Other Sega stuff too.

If you have 40 minutes to kill, this was a fairly enjoyable video where someone goes through the history of Sonic by playing the first level of each of the mainline series.

It's clear that he's not a particular fan of the series based on some of the things he says, but most of his observations are fair. One thing I was surprised to agree with him on was Sonic Heroes. I have only ever heard absolute disdain for Heroes, but I thought it was actually a lot of fun. At least for a little while and especially the first level. I remember I had the demo on PC and played the hell out of that first level before I finally got the game.
At it's true that the seams start to come apart later in the game, but it really is great at first so I was pleasantly surprised to hear someone acknowledge it.

Of course, less enjoyable is the strong reminder of Sega's positively baffling decision to reboot the series after the near-perfection (of 3D) in Generations. It has me all worked up again the fact that we never got more of that. Hell I'd take some DLC levels to just add on to the thing, because I loved that game. Why, Sega, why? :'(

I'll give that a watch. I was watching the GT review of Generations the other day randomly and they say something about "clearly level DLC is inevitable" in a negative way. It's hilarious how they never did any DLC for generations beyond the Casino Nights release day pinball thing.

I watched that video a couple of days ago. It's good; I generally like what SBH thinks about games, which is why I'm subscribed to him. :) I also enjoyed Sonic Heroes back in the day. I wouldn't play it now because I have 100 better games, but it was fun at the time, no question.

This is weird because I remember when it came out, I hated it and everyone else liked it

I guess things changed overtime. I agree with what he said though, the first levels in Heroes were great but then they just got broken. I loved it at first and was like, "Finally they got it right!" but by the end I was selling my copy on ebay :monster:

hahaha, this is generally the Lex-Force-Tenny-Tets discussion thread isn't it? :monster:

whoops, i ruined it :awesomonster:

But more important than that did you see the comment on the facebook post about it?

Hilarious. (Not mine, the next one :P)

Sega in 2006/2007 after nearly killing the Sonic franchise with a god awful game: A game with Sonic as the only playable character wouldn't work. The public wouldn't like that.

Sega: Releases Sonic Unleashed, a solo Sonic game in 2008*

*Sonic Unleasehed becomes one of the highest rated Sonic games in a long time and gets relatively good reviews especially from the fans. They think it's a major step in the right direction*

Sega: Releases Sonic colors, a solo Sonic game in 2010

*Sonic Colors gets amazingly good reviews. The fans love it and demand more games like it*

Sega: Releases Sonic Generations in 2011, a solo Sonic game, to celebrate Sonic's 20th anniversary

*The public agrees that it's the best Sonic game in years. Sonic is finally good again and we can love him once more. They welcome Sonic back to the throne of gaming with open arms and can't wait for future releases.*

Sega: Releases Sonic Boom in 2014. A buggy, slow game where you're forced to play as other characters besides Sonic. The game's frame rate is so bad it renders areas unplayable and the music is largely unforgettable. It's the lowest selling Sonic game of all time and pretty much kills the Sonic franchise.

Sega afterwards: Well we don't know what to do. We tried to put too much into that game, but a solo Sonic game just wouldn't work.

Public: Just make another game like Sonic Generations or Sonic colors again!

Sega: Here's our latest game idea, A SEQUEL TO SONIC BOOM! It'll be out in 2016!

amirite? :monster:
